I picked up a few TPBs at a tag sale the other day. I don't think they were ever read because they're in awesome condition...and at 1 buck a piece I just couldn't pass them up. I'm excited to finally get into Captain America...I'm not sure why I haven't yet...but I'm going to start reading. The books I picked up were: Winter Soldier: Ultimate Collection Captain America & The Falcon: The Swine Captain America: Hail Hydra Captain America and the Falcon: Nomad Captain America & the Falcon: Secret Empire Captain America: The Chosen No Escape Red Menace: Ultimate Collection The Burden Of Dreams The Man With No Face Road to Reborn RebornSo those are the TPBs (The Chosen) is a HC. And my problem is this...Captain America numbering, having never paid attention doesn't make much sense to me at the moment. I was hoping you could help me: A) Fill in the blanks with must have trades B) Tell which TPBs I should pick up and C) Where to start If you can help me out and you have a store, I'll buy the books from ya. Deal?

I'm not that familiar with the tpb's on Cap; however, maybe this will help: http://tplist.millarworld.net/captainamerica.html Big signatures are REALLY annoying.

Yeah, I've seen plenty of lists of all Cap trades...but I was just wondering what holes I have in the current list of trades that I have now.

I consider myself a Captain America expert, but I don't collect trades as a rule. Can you provide the runs contained within, i.e. Captain America v1 #250 - #262 etc... even a copyright would help, or listing the talent behind the book. EDIT: I see they are hyperlinks. I can tell you off the bat that the second selection (The Swine) is one of my all-time favorite runs by Jack "King" Kirby. Yeah, I read Swine, Secret Empire and Nomad right away. They were just fantastic. But I'd like to get up to speed on the current Cap as well. I supposed I could just follow the chronology and pick up each trade that I'm missing...but I want the "cream of the crop", so to speak.

They must be in that bunch. Many consider his run to be the best Marvel had to offer, and IMO some of the best Captain America stories ever published... even over Lee and Kirby. @Dementia5 Thanks! I think what's throwing me off is that "No Escape" and others are Captain America 1968...and some others, like "Red Menace: Ultimate Collection" are Captain America 2005..
I just want to fill out the holes in these particular books and have a nice big chunk of Cap reading. :)

Huh, you're right, not that I had a reason to doubt you. That simply surprises me.
