The problem is that you can't TRUST the publishers when they say stuff like "You better buy this title because it's awesome!". That is for the readers to decide. A majority of the time the titles are not that great and retailers save themselves by not ordering much. The second print on titles that buck the trend and actually are GOOD is what saves them. Image is just shooting themselves in the foot and hurting retailers. It sure helps the secondary market though. Shop At My Store!!

yeah but image has been putting out some awesome stuff. they realized that a book doesn't have to be a super hero book to be awesome. books like revival, cone, saga... just amazing.

Lets face it, these books are good, but not because of Image. It is because of the quality of the individual creator. It actually costs a lot to run a multiple prints, and it does not sell out often. Multiple printings just allow me to always have the individual issues on the shelf. I sell more trades on books that do not have multiple printings. Image wants the retailer to support their line but frankly the books do not sell all that well. Individual titles do, but overall it is an epic fail. It's a shame too. Customers support the ENTIRE Marvel & DC line, and if we were to use percetages, Marvel & DC have the same ratio of great\(banned)e books that Image does. The problem is, a retailer would rather get stuck with 25 bad Marvels, rather than get stuck with 3 bad Image books.

I think what Image is trying to say, "We will reprint issue 1 and 2 maybe even 3 of a series, but after that, you guys need to figure out why your ordering sucks."
I know in another thread speculators was being discussed, do you think that may be causing the hit? I wouldn't think so as no one has commented about one person buying 5 of an issue.

The city where I frequent comic shops has 3 stores. Two I don't venture into, because they suck. The third is where I spend a lot of time. They order enough copies of Image books to cover orders and MAYBE a copy or two for the shelf. And they never order reprints unless someone specifically requests they try.
Won't effect them at all.
