Great. Can't wait for the Smoke Monster to star as the ghost of Darth Vader. Or for Tatooine to be destroyed during the Sith Wars. Check out Hall of Heroes for hard to find Gold & Silver Age comics! Marvel! DC! Gold Key/Whitman! ACG! Dell! Archie! I also have a diverse selection of Independent and Underground books for sale - with more on the way!

Considering the Star Trek movie he did had tons of Star Wars influences, I'd say this is a perfect match! Bad Robot!

Bad Robot!
I saw someone else say this, too. I don't see the similarities between the two other than the fact it takes place in space and has spaceships. ***CHECK OUT MY COMIC TRADING LIST, CLICK HERE******TRADE VIDEO GAMES WITH ME, CLICK HERE******TRADE COMIC CARDS WITH ME, CLICK HERE***Make sure that you read and understand the forum rules here

Rebellious farm boy is recruited by a veteran and friend of his father's to join up with the same peacekeeping force his father was a part of? Yeah, me neither.

Yeah, I can see the connection now with the farmboy. But the rest of it? I don't see anything that resembles the Jedi, the Empire, Storm Troopers, or Rebels. And the farmboy thing was already established before Abrams. Kirk always had a love for horses because of it and often referred to his Midwestern upbringing. ***CHECK OUT MY COMIC TRADING LIST, CLICK HERE******TRADE VIDEO GAMES WITH ME, CLICK HERE******TRADE COMIC CARDS WITH ME, CLICK HERE***Make sure that you read and understand the forum rules here

You don't see anything that resembles the other stuff because then it wouldn't be so much of an influence as a total ripoff of Star Wars. Influences are subtle, you're looking for obvious imagery.

I'm excited JJ is directing Episode VII and looking forward to Episode 8 and 9 too. What I dont like is that Disney has confirmed making Star Wars spin off movies starting with Yoda in his own flick. I think a movie about bounty hunters could be interesting but I also think too much Star Wars may take away everything that makes the first 6 movies special. Again, I'm thrilled about the new trilogy but hope they dont ruin it with lots of spin offs.
My Pull List
Marvel: All New X-Men, Avengers, New Avengers, Uncanny Avengers, Uncanny X-Men, Superior Spiderman, Indestructible Hulk, Thor: God of Thunder, Guardians of the Galaxy.
DC: Aquaman, Batman, Batman: The Dark Knight, Detective Comics, Earth 2, Green Lantern, Justice League, Justice League of America, Savage Hawkman, Superman.
Dark Horse: Star Wars

I think Star Wars just might be the most overexposed movie of all time. If it was possible to have Too much Star Wars...well, we're already there. That being said, I think I might get your point. Hope they focus on making good movies rather than lots of movies.
