This is the thread to ask about what's cannon and what's not, and what is considered in-continuity or not.
So I just finished reading X-Factor Forever (2010) (pretty good if you were a fan of the original X-Factor team, but the artwork looks a little wonky).
In it, there's a back-up feature that tells the origin and history of Apocalypse's life.
It shows that Apocalypse was born in a human tribe of cavemen, way back when. And was raised by his family, until he was shunned after his shape-shifting powers manifested as a teenager.
And he pushed "Survival of the fittest" philosophy in order to weed out the strong from the week in order to genetically manipulate humanity so they would survive the Celestials arrival and judgment of Earth centuries down the road.
However, in Rise of Apocalypse (1996)
Which is an origin mini-series for Apocalypse; it shows that Apocalypse was born in Ancient Egypt, centures later, and was raised by a tribe of thieves and assassins in the desert; which was where he adopted his "Survival of the fittest" philosophy due to living in a very rugged environment
So which one is cannon, now?

That series takes place on Earth-TRN237 - not 616.

None of those Forever mini-series are cannon (New Mutants Forever, X-Factor Forever, X-Men Forever, X-Men Forever 2). More in the vein of What Ifs.

Easy answer, then.
I just thought the series was a "what if the series continued with the original team" sort of deal; since everything that happened up to that point actually did happen in the real Marvel Universe as well. And since Apocalypse's origin was a beforehand event, I wasn't sure.

It was originally supposed to be a "continuation of the story" kind of thing... a chance to see what Christ Claremont would have done if he'd stayed with the X-Men, but it quickly became something else.

This is a "cannon":
What you are talking about is not a "cannon", but "canon". Please proceed.

Same here.
Not like I could seriously fault someone for OCD when all of my collections are in perfect alpha-numeric order.

The only "Forever" book I've read, is Avengers Forever, and I'm pretty sure that one was in current continuity (even though there was extensive time travel). The book you posted the pic of, is a good read. One of those books that got lost in the overcooked 90's. lol
