Sorry if I'm being too technical, but I believe that, technically, Incredible Hulk #180 was the first appearance of Wolverine (it was a one-panel cameo on the last page), and Incredible Hulk #181 is typically valued as being the 1st full appearance of Wolverine.

the fact that this thread is alive after so long should be noted, however futile it is to try to track things this way.
CCL should gather some concensus on what are the important keys
1st appearance of...
origin of...
new costume for...
I don't think 'death of' is important as everybody seems to get un-dead after an appropriate rise in their marketability.
But, really folks, there are THOUSANDS of keys, most of them not interesting to you and I. But the ones that each of us think ARE important vary from person to person, and it should be a searchable item. This is a database, after all.
C'mon, CCL, whiteboard this item, wonchaplease?

This is a totally subjective thread.
The BIG KEYS are are destined to remain on the permanent want list and we all know what they are; each of us looking for that miracle yardsale. Otherwise these books will allways be beyond the means of the Avg collector.
I think you have to looks individually at keys that interest YOU. Like take Mr Warlock for example... He might be thrilled /interested/ delighted /envious (any number of things, really) if I were to tell him that a buddy of mine just assembled ALL of the Warlock silver/bronze age appearances of this charater. Others of you could care less.
Not that thats bad... just a reflection of different interests. I have TTA -Hulk all the issues thru that HUGE run except for 22 books. Its taken a while to assemble. Lots of effort lots of time and cash. My same bud that loves Warlock respects the endeavor, but Hulk isnt his thing. not the end of the world...
But keys. Maybe an Avengers annl 10 is quite meaningful to an x-fan. but less so to a Green lanter fan..
Hard to say. Its AWFULLY subjective

A searchable database of keys would be very useful for those of us that are only casually into comics or newbies. Having a set list with metadata within the CCL database possibly tied into a sub-unit of the local software Wishlist area would be really neat. To be able to just "ask" / search in this "Keys" subunit for a characters 1st, death, marriage, having kids, etc... and have the hits (books, issues info) returned would be really great.
Could the Keys list be taken care of with the Change request system so it's user filled?
BTW Yes Hulk 180 does have the cameo of Wolverine in the back of the book. 181 is the first issues with him fully featured.
