New Members Announced for JUSTICE LEAGUE
The team is getting really big suddenly.

By Tony 'G-Man' Guerrero | Aug. 26, 2012

We've seen the issue where it was shown that the Justice League refused to allow other members to join the team. Something really big went down with Martian Manhunter. Green Arrow was determined to join but they would't have anything to do with him. All that's about to change.

Today at Fan Expo, it was announced that the roster is changing, big time.

You should notice one difference. This is going to be JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA. Geoff Johns will be joined by David Finch and the team will be under the guidance of Steve Trevor. On the team we see Vibe, Catwoman, Martian Manhunter, the new Green Lantern, Stargirl, Katana, Hawkman and Green Arrow.

You can check out an interview with Johns and Finch over at MTV Geek.

What do you think about this roster? Does this team make sense? We'll see more of this in 2013. Are you ready for another Justice League comic?

It looks like they are going for a much grittier team ... which makes me wonder what Stargirl is doing there.

We haven't seen New 52 Stargirl yet. Considering the rest of the dark-as-hell New 52 universe, I wouldn't be surprised if she was grittier.

I am looking forward to this! While I dont like Stargirl, Vibe, the new GL (Hal is the best), and Katana on this team...I do like Green Arrow, Hawkman, and Martian Manhunter fighting together. I also like the creative team and think they will bring a lot to the title.

It bugs the heck out of me that people are complaining about the new DC being too dark. Some of those same people used to complain that DC Comics were too campy. How many of you heard Marvel fans complain that Superman and Aquaman were too wimpy and the stories were too corney so they never got into DC? I've heard that a million times over the years. Wall

I liked the original Justice League with Superman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Wonder Woman. These were during the silver/bronze age but i like that Martian Manhunter is still in the new one

I wonder if this is the team we'll see following the events of the upcoming Trinity War.

Yes, this will be a new ongoing title next year.

I think in the interview they said something about this book coming from the fallout of the War.

As mentioned in the article at the top of the thread, the character to the left of Catwoman is Vibe and to her right is Steve Trevor. The New GL was introduced in DC's Free Comic Book Day book this year and will make his official debut in the very near future. His name is Baz, I believe.

This team reminds me of Justice League: Task Force from the 90s, which isn't a good thing.

It certainly appears to be a much darker team.

Hopefully a totally different book. Other than no Martian Manhunter, the current iteration of the Justice League is spot on.
