Xbox killed itself with all the new stupid features like having to log in once a day, no used games etc and now with that price it will be worse then the WiiU

They are trying to do too much and sacrificing the core buyers at the same time, GAMERS! Sony at least knows its all about gaming and I heard price will be about 50 if not 100 cheaper. I see a ton of old xboxes hitting the market as die hards finally accept defeat, lol, Sony wins.

my 360 & Wii collect dust while the PS3 gets used regularly... regardless, I'll be taking a 'wait and see' approach on the new consoles. No early adopter here.

I'm sure it won't flop but I wish it would, they are trying to hog all the cash for themselves & soak the teenagers in the process. In the meantime hang on to those old consoles, especially if they are in good shape, there's a lot of good games that can't be played on anything else.

I love how Microsoft’s Don Mattrick came out today and said if you dont like the new internet on set up of the Xbox One then buy a 360, lol. Must be nice to have such a huge company that you dont care about your buyers anymore and just do what you want and tell them to piss off if they dont like it.

Same here on the wait & see approach. But I'm using that strategy on PS4 vs. Wii U.

XBox One is already a definite no for me. I hate how restrictive and invasive all these practices are Microsoft is putting in place on the XBox One. No matter how cool the games may be on it, by giving Microsoft my money I'm giving them permission to continue to treat their customers digracefully.

+1.

I think the best quote I have for these two press conferences is:
"Sony must have had Taco Bell for lunch before the press release... because they sure took a massive dump all over Microsoft."

Basically, Sony came out, undercut their price by a hundred bucks, and basically said "Whatever Microsoft is doing, we're doing the oppsosite."

I had a PSOne, Ps2... and for whatever reason got a 360. I regret not keeping the pattern and getting the Ps3.

I think at this point we all know that the Xbox One is a gigantic failure.

So what would you guys do if you were to design the XBox One?

What I would want on it:

-No fees of used games
-No need for online "check-ins"
-Full backwards compatibility (not emulation) for both XBox 360 and the original XBox.
-Steam support.
-Make Cloud gaming optional, and still support hard drive and flash drive use.
-Wave the XBox Gold requirement for multiplayer (XBox is the only one doing this) and instead give premium support and services for the XBox Gold price.
-Pack-in a Halo title with every console (remember pack-in games?).
-Create a classic controller for Xbox Live Arcade games.

The lack of backwards compatibility in consoles is not that big of a deal to me. A lot of people here grew up with the Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64 line. I don't remember hearing anyone complaining then that they couldn't play Legend of Zelda on their Super Nintendo. You just kept your old consoles and plugged it in whenever you felt like playing an older game. While backwards compatibility is nice for people that never had the older console and allows them to play classic games, the majority of people that are going to buy the XboxOne, PS4, WiiU have a version of every console put out by the companies.

That was a long, rambling mess that probably goes on another forum but it seemed to kind of fit into this one.

Backwards compatibility is not what everyone is complaining about. They're complaining about the following things:

-It will require a fee to be paid to activate used games, after already having purchased them. Microsoft is being money hungry, for sure, on this one.

-It will require you to be connected online to be able to play your XBox One. What does that mean for people with an unreliable connection, people that live in the boonies with no internet, and when servers or internet are down?

-The Kinnect (which is built into the XBox One) is ALWAYS on, even if your console isn't. And there's a camera built in. Very invasive for some people.

-And finally, it is only going to be supported in a limited amount of countries.

-And to add to that, it's the most expensive console coming out!

Even if it was a main complaint, it's a valid one, though. I hold to all my console, I still have an Atari 2600 and a knock-off Pong unit. But not everyone does that. Many people trade in whatever console they have towards a new console.

Micosoft has said you can turn it off, pause it etc.

The rest of it still sucks though.

Well, that's one flame put out. But the fire is still raging and Microsoft is gonna have to do a lot more before they release the system to gain a lot of gamers' support.
