I know this in an Homage to something but just can't figure it out. It's killing me. Help? Hypnotized

Star Wars IV: A New Hope movie poster.

edit: Maybe... not? I could have sworn the original movie poster was like that. Damn now it's bugging me too. I thought Conan the Barbarian, but that's not quite right either.

The first two things I thought were Star Wars and Conan. Dang, can't place it. I'm never going to get to sleep tonight. Anxious

The worst thing is I can picture a Transformers cover that had Arcee on it around the leg of Rodimus, but now I can't remember which cover that was. Though I can always just look through my wishlist or my box of RI covers (because I'm reasonably sure it's an RI cover).

Okay, I think I found it. I don't think it was ever a comic cover, but it was the cover by Frank Frazetta to the second Conan book, Conan the Adventurer. (And later re-used for later printings of the first book when the movie was coming out.)

I think what was throwing us off is that the woman around the leg is from Conan the Adventurer, but the weapon straight over the head is from Star Wars (though Star Wars might not have been the first to do that.)

So, it's not ONE homage, it's several.

edit: Realized there were boobies, so I had to change the image.

edit edit: For the sake of disclosure, I made the edit about the Frank Frazetta book cover after Thundercron made his posts, but before I saw them. (My original post was just about the Transformers cover)

National Lampoon's Vacation. Which itself, I believe, was a homage to an old Frazetta painting.

Looks like Boris Vallejo did the posters for both Vacation and European Vacation. Not finding any info on if it was a homage to anything that came prior. Thinking about it, I don't think Boris would have done such a high profile poster by ripping off someone else's work. So it's probably an original idea.

Aah, that makes sense. It's an Amalgam Homage! Silly

Guess this one fits in as well.

I think that Joe issue is a stretch. There is this, though:

Maybe a Homage Tag is in order.

I'm guessing that's the Star Wars you were thinking of, and frankly I can't blame you.
BUT.....
I can't believe you really didn't realize that it's this:

OK, here's another one.

Seems like I have seen this before. Gotta be Gold or early Silver. I sort of recall that it was Superman, Batman and Robin on the original? Can't dredge it up, brain full! Wall

That's driving me crazy too, now. I know it's an homage to the painting the Spirit of '76... but I can absolutely picture Superman, Batman, and Robin in an original homage to that painting. My first thought was World's Finest, but no dice through the first 200 covers. My second thought was Star Spangled Stories (with Robin as solo), but no luck there, either.

I had a second thought thanks to my dad that maybe it was just Superman on the cover walking with the two other Revolutionary War figures, but I came up empty on Superman and Action Comics.

I can't find the other thread, but I guess we'll never find out if that one guy looking for that war comic cover was in fact looking for G.I. Combat #101.
