I loved every series that came out.
I really enjoyed how each title had its own theme such as, Asia, America 1950s horror, Britain at the time of the Roman invasion, etc.
I keep hoping that these series will make a comeback with the same style and tone that they were originally created with.

Good news for you then! Checker is publishing all of the "lost" CrossGen comics (the issues that never saw print due to the CrossGen bankruptcy). Some are already out, others on the way.

With you 100% plus on this one! Great reads, great creative teams. And you could read each title independently or read 'em all for a really intricate 'big picture' story! I was SOOOOO disappointed when they quit publishing!

I would love to have seen even more titles come out with different themes.
I liked the "big picture" idea they were working on.
I really wanted to see how that played out.

I like Sojourn. Greg Land's art was just great and the story was good. I never really got into any of the other titles. Since the back issues are fairly cheap does anyone have some suggestions?

Sojourn was my favorite!!
I loved that book.
I'm sad that I can't find out if Arwyn and Kreeg could collect the 2 remaining arrow pieces to defeat that bastard Mordath!!
Its a shame Crossgen couldn't continue... They were good books.
I didn't read them all, but I picked up Way of the Rat, Route 666, and Ruse.

I got into CrossGen late... one of my regrets in all my comic collecting years. I really got into the trades for
Scion
and
Meridian
- 2 titles that appear to be missing from Checker's catalog. GRR!!

I think Disney bought the Crossgen Universe.
I had hoped they would do someting with this property.
It's about the only thing I would be interested in from Disney.

They were good. But a $3.99 price when the norm was $2.50 was outrageous. They didn't have special covers or more pages or anything. I'm pretty sure that's what put em under, that's why I didn't follow em normally. I got the first issues and checked em out, and wished I had the dough to follow at the time, though.

They were all $2.99 except for the Crossgen Chronicles issues, which were $3.99.

I think what put them under was they were paying top talent a fortune! and they over expanded too fast.
You have to break into comics slowly, or find your niche. Not try to jump into the #3 spot.
I think the owner didn't want to blow his personal fortune on the whole thing and bailed early when the ship was taking on water.
That said, yeah, I wished Disney would do something about the characters. I remember Abadazab (sp.) or something, but thats about it..
I WANT MY SOJOURN BACK!
Oh, I also Read El Cazador and The Path! those were also good titles!
Plus they produced Rob Zombie Spookshow which was awesome, then Image bought that and turned it into a trade...

Quote:
Bankruptcy
In 2003, CrossGen found itself in a scandal over free-lancer payments, exposing systemic financial problems. As this news reached comics fans, sales were affected and creative staff began abandoning the company (including co-founder Gina Villa, Brandon Peterson, and Ron Marz). The root cause for CrossGen's financial collapse has never been publicly disclosed, but some industry observers have noted its difficulties became apparent shortly after the Borders and Barnes & Noble bookstore chains discontinued stocking CrossGen's trade paperback collections and returned huge numbers of unsold books for credit/refund, more than wiping out the publisher's optimistically low reserves against returns.

For a comic publisher that's only been gone for 10 years or so, I find their titles VERY plentiful where I live. I could just about assemble an entire collection of every title (if I had the money) in about two weeks. A little less than 700 books, I think.

I think they have been gone for only about 4 years by now.
I don't think they even had 300 comics published when they went under.

I think hammertron is right.
I believe they went bancrupt in '04 (without researching it here guys/gals) and only had a half dozen titles, or so. I guess they had some one shots and two shots thrown in also, but not many.
Sojourn
Ruse
Route 666
Way of the Rat
Path
Crux
Meridian
Some Lady Death shots here and there I believe.
There are probably more titles than that above, but I'm going from memory here and most of them are series' that are in the 20-35 issues each catagory.
Say there's a full 10 titles x's 30 issues each that's only 300 issues.

Discoverd El Cazador in some dollar boxes...great stuff indeed. I actually only picked up Solus when Crossgen was publishing...the Perez art was great, but the story lacked..
