I'm an Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Nebraska joining the Big Ten was bad enough but now I see Maryland and Rutgers will be joining us in 2014. What the hell is going on with all these teams leaving their conference to go to another? I didn't like it when Penn State joined the Big 10 either and I still dont. I always liked how the Big 10 and Big 8 were midwest teams only. Lots of good rivals and I looked forward to Saturday college football. Now its all about money and its drawing me further away from the sport I've loved since I was 8 years old. I like Missouri too but they went to the SEC where they are getting their butts kicked. All this conference shifting is getting old. At least the NFL stays the same for the most part. What do you sports guys think of all this?

Its all about money and TV. Natural rivals and tradition don't matter anymore. And I don't know how the Big 10 can have 12 teams. Or the PAC 8 can have 10 teams or whatever. Is is a mess. At least good old Notre Dame has a chance to win the national title this year.

Maryland and Rutgers should stay where they are. The only good thing about college football right now is Notre Dame undefeated. Go Irish

All of the sport news I have been hearing is that some point in the future we will end up with four 16 team super-conferences and the smaller schools and poor performing programs will be left by the wayside, because it is about money and giant TV contracts. The University of Texas setup the Longhorn network with ESPN for 300million ( 15 mil x 20yrs) and the Los Angeles Lakers TV deal could be worth up to 5 billion over its 25yr contract life.

I understand the schools wanting to make money.Lets take my favorite the UK Wildcats.The mens basketball and football programs pay for all the other sports programs at the school.If those two sports didnt bring in as much money as they do there wouldnt be baseball, volleyball,soccer, softball, etc at the school.Now different schools will have different money making sports, football and basketball just happen to be the only two sports that KY fans care about. Teams have always been changing conferences.Theres nothing new there.

I follow the Wyoming Cowboys too and I have friends who are also UofW fans. I feel bad that they will be forgotten about when the playoff system is activated. Wyoming and tons of other small schools will lose money and never get a chance to be in the NCAA spotlight. Makes me wonder how long these smaller schools will keep their football and basketball programs.
