I've been enjoying the new Valiant line since it launched earlier this year . I'm currently reading X-O Manowar, Archer & Armstrong, Bloodshot, Harbinger, and Shadowman. I hope others out there share my enthusiasm for each of the storylines and wanted to chat about events that are currently taking place in the Valiant Universe, moving onto the 5th title to be launched, Shadowman. Oh...and for readers that hate spoilers, I hope others including myself include them in here, so readers proceed with a bit of caution. Now I haven't read the previous volumes so I'm not sure if this is a continuation of volume 3's storyline from Valiant or if it's just a new rendition as the previous launches from Valiant. If anyone knows, please do comment. Now I'm not a huge fan of demons and magic but I do like a good story. Shadowman, the 5th title to be launched is by no means a poorly crafted story. It's just another winner from the recent line of comics from Valiant. Patrick Zircher detailed artwork and the coloring of Brian Reber is simply breathtaking . I've read a few reviews that have stated the detail of work that has gone into the demonic character Mr. Twist is simply amazing, I couldn't agree more. The name only defines what the character fibrous human sacrificial makeup looks like. Jack Boniface is our main character , seems to be a loner finding himself back in New Orleans. His father, Josiah Boniface whom he never met died in utero. His mother died at age 10 in a car accident. He finds back in New Orleans a history of violent criminal activity entangled in his parents past. Feeling betrayed after learning of this he rejects his heritage. However, this causes a chain of events that has led Mr. Twist to locate the young man. With orders from his boss...he ventures out to destroy this young man before he learns of his heritage and the meaning of what the Shadowman is....the last line of defense between the Deadside and the world of the living. For me, the artwork alone seals the deal. I found myself staring intently at the imagery of the Mr. Twist and his demonic henchmen. The panels and the story flow well together . So yeah, there you go and yes I didn't go into a lot of detail so get off your butt and read the series! If you have love or hate for the happenings taking place in the storyline, please do post, if not, then it'll be just be me posting , to myself , for myself ... Review of Issue #1 by Mr. The_Valiant_OneIF ANYONE READ THE STORYLINE FROM THE VALIANT OF THE PAST PLEASE POST ANY INFORMATION THAT YOU RECALL ABOUT HOW THE CURRENT VALIANT STORYLINE COMPARES TO THE 90's STUFF!

Shadowmans first two have been decent. Im not necessarily into the supernatural myself, but with the quality valiant has been producing I decided to try it out. The art is fantastic, and the writing, while fast paced, has been good too.

I've heard a lot of people rave about the new Valiant stuff. One thing I was curious about was if the new stuff was a reboot or a continuation of the old series'. ComicVortexCurrent specials:Get 30% Off Select ComicsFor every comic you purchase from our 'Bargain Bin' (those priced $1 or less), another comic purchased over $1 will be $30% off (refunded via PayPal). eg. If you purchase 10 'Bargain Bin' books, then 10 books purchased that are each over $1 will recieve this refund, etc. Free ShippingEvery domestic order of 25 or more comics gets FREE SHIPPING (Media Mail). Though I can't provide Free Shipping on foreign orders, we do offer a $5 refund on postage for purchases of 25 or more comics to foreign countries or a $10 refund if you buy 50 comics (again, foreign orders only).

Since I haven't read any of the 90's stuff I was hoping that if someone has they'd post some information about whether the current is in line with the 90's etc...any info would be great "CCL Community"!

The Valiant stuff is a reboot. Bloodshot can get his head blown off and regenerate, Shadowman doesn't play the saxophone anymore, and X-O manowar doesn't own Orb industries anymore. I have been getting all of the Valiant titles every month and, other than Bloodshot starting off a little slow (which is no longer the case), the books have not disappointed. I would pick these up over any Marvel or DC book. (except Batman or Detective especially now that Layman is on Detective)
Free shipping is available on ANY order $25.00 and above. No minimum books necessary. Whether it's 1 book or 100 books. If it's $25.00 or more, it ships FREE! Also, if you buy 10 or more $1.00 books, all the $1.00 books are 25% off. Effectively making them $.75 books! I've got hundreds of them! Come take a look!

I was curious on how closely tied to the original 90's stuff everything was. Bloodshot has definitely picked up, so has Harbinger. I'm reading all of the current titles and I'm so glad they have come back, Valiant that is. Image and Valiant my favs for the moment!

OK, I think I'll go ahead and pick these up! There's what, 5 titles? Archer & Armstrong, Bloodshot, Harbinger, Shadowman, and X-O Manowar, correct? So issue 3 has kept up the momentum as we have discovered a few things in this issue. First our main character Jack and his fellow companions are ambushed by Mr. Twist and his minions. Surrounded, Alyssa opts to dive into the Deadworld in order to save the somewhat confused Jack. We also get to look around a bit in the Deadside as Jack and Alyssa are separated. Jaunty, a monkey looking like someone right out of a James Bond movie Live and Let Die or simply one of the many characters seen in mardi gras guides our young Jack through the Deadworld as he searches for Alyssa. He learns a little about himself and the deadworld until he finally meets up with his past. He's given a choice, stay the Shadowman or leave and live his life. Of course he chooses to be the Shadowman but you'll have to read what happens at the end as I don't want to spoil it. Over all the artwork is topnotch and the story is progressing quite nicely, won't be dissappointed.
