This is a thread to post your 2013 collecting goals, and come back and report your progress on them as you complete your goals through the following year. My collecting goals:-Focus on Batman comics. There's a lot of essential stuff that I don't have like Knightsend, No Man's Land, and Hush. -Finish my John Byrne & Dan Jurgens 80s & 90s Superman run. -Finish my JSA run from Justice Society of America #1 (1991) up to the current Earth 2 issues. -Collect the large Iron Man & Avengers storyline where Tony Stark goes bad and is replaced by time-displaced young Tony Stark as the current Iron Man...I'm morbidly curious. -Collect the Thor storyline where Thor is replaced by Eric Masterson and then returns to reclaim his title as Thor (and Masterson becomes Thunderstrike). Again, because I'm curious. -Collect Paradise X, and get the final 2 issues to Universe X, so I can finally read the "X" trilogy in it's entirety. -Track down the Nightmare on Elm Street comics by Innovation that aren't terribly expensive, but not all that easy to find either. ***CHECK OUT MY COMIC TRADING LIST, CLICK HERE******TRADE VIDEO GAMES WITH ME, CLICK HERE******TRADE COMIC CARDS WITH ME, CLICK HERE***Make sure that you read and understand the forum rules here

Pick up my collection of omnibus style collections as my current cash flow will be severely reduced. I'll keep the basics, transformers, deadpool, cable and x-force, and a few current image series like manhattan projects, clone, bedlam, etc but I think I'm done for a bit. Too many variants, too many of everything, need to win the lottery... I just got the amazing spider-man omnibus volume 2, x-men volume 2 omnibus, and transformers idw collection volume 7 for Christmas. I'll keep getting the green lantern new 52 hcs as well.

I'd like to finish up some current runs I've been tinkering with. My Strangers in Paradise run, my Birds of Prey run (that #8 is going to kill me). Batgirl. Maybe work a little on my X-Men run. And I need to find a cheap Fantastic Four #50 to fill that hole in a mini-run.

My goal might be selling my collection. I'm considering a long move and I wouldn't want to lug all those boxes around.
Big signatures are REALLY annoying.

I'm switching gears on collecting. Getting rid of stuff I've had that I don't want, and probably focus on building up my xmen collection - starting with completing the v2 (1991). Also, wife bought me the majority of the Werewolf by Night series - so will probably work on completing that as well.
Also, starting to become slightly more interested in Dr Doom.
Top priority though is catching up on reading!

I got a lot done in 2012, so here's hoping 2013 is just as good! I want to get a few things finished: #1. Get the few remaining Animal Man and Swamp Thing issues so I can start reading Rot World. #2. Finish up Uncanny X-Force (#4 will be tough). #3. Amazing Spider-Man #520 to #700.

My #1 goal this year is to collect what I like, regardless of the hype. I want to pick up more books like Dial H and fewer books like "Superior" Spiderman. Instead of searching in vain for popular DC/Marvel figures at retail stores, I'm going to focus on toy lines with higher quality and better sculpts (i.e.; DC Direct and Marvel Select).

DC Direct has made a HUGE jump in price lately with no corresponding increase in quality... yeah, their sculpts are generally way better than Mattels, but the articulation is usually a joke. $90 for that freakin' Darkseid? Kiss my rosy red rear DC! Here were my goals from 2012 followed by what I'd like to get done by the end of 2013. Quote:1) Re-organization is a must for me! I couldn't find any issue I might be looking for right now if my life depended on it.
2) Part ways with duplicate copies and bad stories. The bad stories will be tough as I'm a bit of a completionist. But, this will probably be easier if I get through #1 above.
3) Get 1/2 way through obtaining my issue holes for completing my X-Men (vol. 1) run. Currently, I'm in need of #1-6, 9, and 13-15. Just 5 issues this year - doable right? 2013: #1 - Same as last year - ORGANIZATION! I've started on this, but am no where close to being through. Once it's completed, though, I'll be able to find anything with ease and be able to add new stuff easily enough once I get it. #2 - The only way to get here is by completing #1, so it's still on the list for 2013. #3 - I only lack my holy grail on my X-Men run now. Issue 1 is my only hole in the 500+ issue run and will be the toughest and most expensive. Here's to my luck finding the right opportunity to pounce!

Got Three....
1- Hopefully get closer to 100% on my Neal Adams comic book collection (at appx 60%).
2- I only own one piece of original art (Mike Grell piece from a convention), hope to find number two which would be a George Perez Sachs & Violens piece.
3- Hit at least 100 garage sales/estate sales this summer looking for those odd comic books that always turn up.
