I am scanning my collection to put pics of them into my web site. Just before scanning this one, I saw that a corner had a very small fold showing a tiny part of the next page. Just before I unfolded it, I noticed that the next page showed the same color image of the front cover. Upon opening the comic book, I realized that a second cover was there under the first. It is included in the original staples! It is in excellent condition while the top cover shows minor scratches.

Just how cool is that?

I fantasize that this may not only bring this to the MT condition (I can dream, can't I) but it also has a story behind it not unlike a double stamped coin.

Thoughts appreciated.....

I dunno about your particular comic...but double covers arent totally unique, although the are not seen every day.

generally, I think, the actual grade of the is based off of the top cover and it is considered a defect rather than some kind of variant.

I know there are more knowledgeable people than me on this site on this particular subject, but I think it does, indeed, increase the value of the book....but only if you find a collector who is into that particlar niche.

One thing I do know is that it is a defect. This is not some 90's era chromium cover type gimmick. The double covers are a defect.
