Just watched Real Steel. Much better than I thought it would be. I Hated the first half hour but loved the rest. Good movie.

Just rewatched the Avengers on Blu-ray.

I just realized that Jeremy Renner's a lefty unlike his character counterpart. Am I late to the party on this find?

Terminator: Salvation. This was my 2nd viewing of it. I don't understand all the hate it gets. It was a solid action movie, IMO. It doesn't have the low-budget charm of the 1st movie, and it's not as spectacular as the 2nd film (hell, I can't think of ANY action movie better than T2); however it made a great post-apocalyptic tale set in the Terminator Universe. And it gave me what I've wanted from a Terminator film ever since seeing the few future scenes in the first 2 movies, a Terminator film set in the future. Great special effects, and cool robots to boot. And it was certainly better than T3.

Pretty good. Basically a horror fan's love letter to the genre.

In the last (almost) 24 hours I've seen:

Tron: Legacy
The Rainmaker
Batman Returns
Arthur Christmas

Finally saw The Dark Knight Rises...think I need to watch it again. I fell asleep a couple times. At +/- 2.5 hours, it probably wasn't the best movie to start at 11:30 at night.

Pointless, cold, empty film. Then again, maybe that was the point.

Total Recall (2012)

I really liked this movie. I wouldn't call it a remake of the original but rather another interpretation of the source material ("We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick).

I really liked this one. It wasn't what I expected and surprised me a couple times.

I went and saw The Hobbit today. Can't say I hated it, it was a good movie in it's own right. Any Tolkien or fantasy fans should go see it. Great production values and budget, and a lot of Middle-Earth lore packed into it.

But at the same time, I can't say that I loved it either. It was just too silly at times. It seemed as if the movie never took itself seriously, which really bothered me. I mean, this wasn't some low-budget production where that sort of thing belongs, nor was it supposed to be a comedy. A little humor here or there is a good thing, but it was just too much here.

I hope the sequel is little more serious, since it looks like it's gonna deal with Smaug.

The new version of Footloose... then immediatly after the old version of Footloose. I know the original was laughable but it's an 80's classic and ten times better than the new one. Don't bother with it. Just que up the original and have some fun.

We rented Frankenweenie and Hotel Transylvania this weekend. While both were nice looking animated films (which I think is getting easier and easier to do these days), they were also kinda meh in the story dept.

Looking forward to Rise of the Guardians and Wreck-It Ralph in the coming weeks.

Dungeonmaster (1985)

So terrible. So incredibly terrible. It's obviously a low-budget movie from the terrible special effects and laugh-out-loud costumes. The story is hokey, and the acting seems like it's from a local high school drama club. Don't ever come near this movie.

I was curious because I had heard it starred Blackie Lawless, who is the lead-singer of the 80s band W.A.S.P. "Starred" is used loosely as he has a small role.

Watched Wrath of the Titans last night, the sequel to the Clash of the Titans remake. A rare case of the sequel being better than the first movie.

It was VERY good. If you're into fantasy movies, then you have to check this movie out! Great fantasy story based on Greek mythology and the Gods. Awesome special effects. And lots of action. I highly recommend this one to anyone into these kind of movies.
