Anyone else read this issue? Surely Marvel won't get rid of Peter Parker but it's not looking good for ol' Petey. I wont give away any spoilers for any of you people that still read this title but havent gotten to this issue. I don't know why but for some reason this title is an interesting read, even though I hate what Slott is doing with the character.

I read a review of it. I don't think the hype lived up to it. I don't hate it more than 700, I still have no interest in the entire storyline.

I actually like the storyline, don't get me wrong I can't wait until Pete comes back.... but I don't hate it. Doc Spidey next teams up with the Secret Avengers in Avenging Spider-Man.

I totally agree. I freaking hate what they're doing with Spider-Man as a character. Yet I find myself continuing to read it, regardless.

I am not sure how he is going to get around this cause he seems to have buttoned it up now. Unless Doc has a change of heart and somehow erases himself and puts peter back.

They can still hit up Mephisto; or clone Spidey again. Tongue

While he's not straight evil, like Doc Ock, he's not exactly as nice as Peter, either.

What's funny, is that as soon as I saw Doc Ock Spidey's finger claws, is that it immediately made me think of Spider-Man 2099. Why the heck would Doc Ock get claws but not Peter? And while we're on the subject, what ever happened to Peter's "Stingers" that he got in "The Other" storyline?

yeah I immediately thought that too. i was certain it was spidey 2099. the "the other" story line was erased in brand new day, for some reason, not really sure why. probably figured it was actually stupid... however kain as SS has stingers so god knows whats going through the editors head.

To steal from Classic Dallas.

Scene: Peter in the shower, comes out wearing a towel. Looks over at Mary Jane. "Damn you will not believe the dream I had, I made a deal with Mephisto and things just went down hill from there."

End Scene.

Did they ever explain how Kaine got those? Because in the Clone Saga, he never had that. He's also missing a couple powers he used to have. He used to have the wall-crawling ability, but was able to amp it up to use it to scar people's faces (the mark of Kaine). He also had flashes of the near future he could see.

I think the "Mark of Kaine" was really just him using his spider stick ability to palm someones face and pull the flesh off... leaving a major scar.

no i just read the clone saga last night (i had battalion staff duty and had to stay awake for 24 hours so i had some time to kill) it burns the flesh. they never went into to much detail about it other than it was part of his degenerated wall crawling powers.
