I have shut off Life Lock, so let me know if you see that again. Sorry about the problems!

BTW... We do have filters on that are supposed to keep those types of ads from running. No weird stuff is supposed to happen, but sometimes it slips through.

Again, let us know if you see any funny business. We'll fix it.

just opened ccl forum, read this and BAM lifelock popup. So still not fixed.

I'll get Joe to look at it, but the Lifelock Banners have been completely shut off and I have not seen or been able to duplicate the pop-up since.

Hey Xy, I'm not sure what you mean. If the banners are completely removed from the site, there should be no more problems.

The problems will be ongoing if something installed itself on the users desktop (which I think is the point Xylob was trying to reinforce).

yup, when the windows were popping up, something else was trying to install in the background.
my A/V stopped it from happening, but that doesn't mean everybody else was so lucky.
even though the pop-ups are done now, removing the offending ad from CCL isn't going to uninstall whatever may have gotten onto other folks machines.

Would this be the reason why I'm getting Lifelock pop-ups on different websites now? eBay, Weather Channel, etc.? Or are they infected too?

They are infected too. Any site that has Lifelock advertising will have the pop-ups or whatever they are.

The following stores are all stores that I've dealt with or have become friends with through the forums and I highly recommend them all.
Comics Castle-AKA Pat McCauslin
Alpha Comics--ComicVortex--Comic Cellar--Hall of Heroes--Swifty's Olde Tyme Comic Shoppe

Has anyone tried a system restore to a point before all this stuff happened? Shouldn't that flush out the installed stuff?

I use Malwarebytes.org anti malware software. Its free and updated every month and keeps me safe from those nasty little gremlins.

Haven't seen that stupid banner in days. On this site anyway. Now if only the Powers That Be on eBay were as easy to contact, and as willing to help, as Joe Butler and Steve Boyd.Applause Big Hug Dancing

I should have said this before, but the popup for me was some kind of redirect, from http://ds.serving-sys.com.

Once I restricted that site, the popups stopped.

Useful tip. I have one as well, after I got the pop-ups I noticed a delay when going to a new website. Using Firefox I clicked on options-privacy and clicked on "remove individual cookies". I got rid of anything I didn't recognize & it helped a lot, back to normal speed.
