During my travels I didn't buy many expensive books but I jumped when I found the first Poison Ivy for $50. Thanks to Overstreet for that one (eventually sold for $150 as a VGF). Was also going through some old Thors to list & found a nice 155 with a pretty cool cover.

Over the weekend my partner and I bought approximately 15,000 comics from a local flea market/convention seller who wanted to get out of the game. The vast majority of it is stuff Divide & Conquer will be posting for $.35-$1.00 but there was also some CGC stuff and some hidden gems. We're sorting this stuff like crazy and we're hoping to start posting stuff by the end of the week!

Now that my shameless plug is out of the way I'll point out some cool stuff that I swiped for my personal collection. Big Grin

I kept a handful of Silver Age X-Men issues including a pretty nice-looking copy of issue 14 (1st appearance of the Sentinels). I'm working toward a complete X-Men (1963)/Uncanny X-Men run and I've only got about 50 to go now!

I'm also an obsessive Wolverine collector so I was delighted to find some things I'd never seen before...There was a pretty full run of "Amazing Heroes" magazine and I grabbed a couple issues with interesting Wolvie covers:

Issue 55:

Issue 188, which has a cool interview with Barry Windsor-Smith about the original Weapon X storyline:

And of course, who can forget the time that Wolverine stabbed Batman in the head?

Check out my store, Divide & Conquer Comics!!!

Ok picked up this rare gem yesterday. Ok I know it isnt Spiderman, and in fact i hate Superman but anytime you can snag a RRP comic its a good deal.

Now I guess I have to add to DB and sell, lol

I love poking thru stock at shows where no one knows who I am, or
up and down the highways of Texas and hitting little shops that may
have some great stock or killer bargains.

Yesterday I went to the regular comic book fair--I had missed the last few times this was held, because of family commitments. As usual, I checked out the tables for my favourite dealer and found a few things I wanted and had spent about what I thought I should spend, but I was checking out some of the other tables when I found a run of AQUAMAN from the '60s at a good price. And looking at all those Nick Cardy covers, it was hard to resist. I've always wanted to read the whole Skeates and Aparo run. I had to pop out and go to a cash machine to get enough money to buy all of 'em. When I got home I realized I missed one (issue 45) and I'm kicking myself, because it was probably in there I just was careless.

Received an order tody from CCL's Read the Story (Play the Game). This was a first time order for me but since they are an established seller I went a little higher than I usually would for a new store just starting out. Everything was packed nicely and graded accurately and as promised. Shipping was quick even though there was a weekend and a Monday holiday to disrupt the USPS delivery schedule. I'll definitely buy from them again.

Aphrodite IX (2013) #3-C, 4-B, 4-C
Batman Annual (2012) #2-A
Savage Hawkman #8, 19, 20
Sojourn #4
Transformers: Alliance #2-C
Wild Blue Yonder #1-A (first printing)

Some nice pickups in there. I was actually in your area back in Sept checking out some of the local stores. Can you say which store the sale was at or is it a trade secret?

No secret . . . it was at Comic Town. It is located just off I-71 north of downtown Columbus. They were having a 20th Anniversary sale today. All back issues in the long boxes were only $1, 20% off supplies and 20% off all trade paperbacks.

I was there, although I crossed it off my list without a comment, not sure why, apparently not much caught my eye. With a $1 sale I'm sure I'd have stuck around. I spent a lot of time at World's Greatest which is nearby, also In The Ball Park down in Lancaster.

Here's a fun one, first time I've seen a double cover on a book with a glued spine, just sits loose like a dust jacket. Was checking completed listings, seems like any decent old double cover will fetch a good 20 bucks anyway. Update - took about 20 minutes to sell for $50, all praise Disney -

A big shout out to Howie over at Hall of Heroes for picking this up for me at the recent VA Comic Con:

Also, I picked up this trading card set back in September at the Rose City Comic Con. Here's the first page after I put them all in 9-card sleeves:

"/>

Yep, that would be Hasbro's set of Transformers Action Cards from 1985. Got the whole 192 card set for $7, and it goes on ebay anywhere from $150-$200!
