With all the hype about Apocalypse in the next next Xmen movie. I snagged up a couple of copies of Xfactor #6 before that issue got out of reach money wise. I also purchased a Xmen #107, first appearance of Gladiator. Both characters I have always liked. Real happy with my buys.

I got a nice haul of hardcovers and TPBs for my birthday on Thursday.

A bunch of the ladies I work with chipped in and got me:

DC Archives Golden Age Green Lantern Vol. 1
Marvel Masterworks Atlas Era Tales Of suspense Vol. 3

My wife got me:

Showcase Presents The War That Time Forgot Vol. 1
Showcase Presents The House Of Mystery Vol. 1
Showcase Presents Enemy Ace Vol. 1
Marvel Masterworks Atlas Era Heroes

So far I've read a bit from the Green Lantern, War That Time Forgot, House Of Mystery and Tale Of Suspense. They're all great. I don't even mind that the Showcase books are in black and white.

I was just going through a box of worthless (well, a buck-a-book) 90's comics that I am planning on listing and found this gem.

After picking myself up off the floor I double checked to make sure it wasn't some reprint. I picked myself up from the floor once again and put that baby in mylar.

It was in between Astonishing X-men #3 and a run of Young Justice. It was towards the end of the box and I didn't even see it initially.

Needless to say, it will pay for the entire box. Dancing Party

Closing in on 600 Hero Ratings! Now with more than 16,000 comics listed and thousands more to come! To all of my Fantastic Customers I say, Thank You! Keep watching.

Now with 1,500+ positive feedback on the four letter site!
Standing offer to all CCL Members - every purchase you make from my other store (link below) earns you at least one freebie of my choice! If you purchase from Hall Liquidations send a PM to Hall of Heroes and let me know! Thanks!

Sweet book, count the pages on that sucker though, sometimes those oldies get thrown in a bargain bin for a reason. If it's all there you're a very happy camper.

Saw a complete second print of "Batman The Killing Joke" for $2.00. It was very good to fine condition. For the price though. The book has found a home. I also picked up a Dr. Seuss book- "One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish" for my little nephew for $3.00.

I picked this up for free. It's Superman's Girl Friend Lois Lane #1 in Fr/Gd condition. It was bought by me last July on eBay and was never received. I filed a claim and received my money back from eBay, not from the seller, as he had proof that he shipped the book. Finally 5 months later it arrived, no worse for wear. I contacted eBay and was told there was no way for me to pay them back and not to worry about it. Merry Christmas to me.

The following stores are all stores that I've dealt with or have become friends with through the forums and I highly recommend them all.

I rarely stop into a physical comic book store these days, but today I was looking for stocking stuffers so I decided to stop in one of the comic book stores that I used to frequent. Instead of finding any gifts for others, I just found some goodies for myself. I was surprised to find a new Captain Action doll--I didn't know that there had been a re-issue, so of course I grabbed it. I asked if they had costumes for him, but they were all out. I wonder if anyone knows more about this latest re-issue.

The personnel working in this store seemed to have lost the art of conversation. I went to a few of them to enquire about different things and I got clipped responses. Maybe talking to customers is seen as time-wasting. But I rarely get into a comic shop these days--and that's the only place I can geek out about comics in person--since my friends and family have no interest in this stuff. I can understand why personnel don't want to waste their time talking to every customer--yet giving their customers this kind of attention would probably result in more sales.

Hey Jim. I am in the same boat as you when it comes to friends and family having no interest in comics and most everything geeky. Yeah, it's a drag when you do go to a comic shop or any shop at that and the staff are disinterested in helping. Customer service is huge for me.

a few that have come in recently:

JSA #68-87
JLA/JSA secret Files & Origins #1
JSA Kingdom Come Special: Magog
JSA Our Wolrd's At War #1
Justice League Of America (2006) #0, #11-12, #44-48
JSA Classified #23-27

My recent JSA/JLA obsession continues.

Also the above mentioned JSA Classified books came from SpookyTreeComics here on CCL and like Shadowdodger said in his post above the books were well packed and grading was dead on.
