My partner in West End Comics, Steve King, put me onto an add on Craigs list for a guy who was selling a pristine 1965 comic book spinner rack for $150. I couldn't believe it. I've been looking for one forever - especially that didn't cost an arm and a leg. On eBay, these go for $300-600.

Needless to say I grabbed this thing up and it's sitting in my office filled with comics I haven't read yet. Awesome!!!

Steve

I threw one out about a year or two ago. It was a 5 sided wire one that said "Hey Kids, Comics" on the top. It was a little rusty and a few of the bins needed to be welded back on at one side or the other and it could have used some new ball-bearings, but really wasn't all that bad for being from the 60's or maybe the 50's. I tried selling it at comic shows and couldn't find any takers so I finally just took it to the junk yard.

The following stores are all stores that I've dealt with or have become friends with through the forums and I highly recommend them all.

Awesome, dude. I don't have a place for that kind of stuff so I always turn it down when offered :( I would love a spinner rack just for awesomeness, though. I have seen guys take them to cons and sell comics off of them.

Never thought I'd say "nice rack" to a guy, but..nice rack. I went to an old drug store to get my books in the early 80s and the guy had that EXACT one, so he must have had it for years!

I'm on the lookout for the old 60s comic vending machines that worked like a cig machine in that you put the money in and a comic would slide down the chute. They go for a ton WHEN and IF you can find one.

Check out my comic book articles if you get the chance?
