I totally stole this from Valiant's Facebook post on CCL's Facebook Page. Hope you don't mind. What are you 2012 collecting goals? Think of this as your comic geek news year resolution, lol. Post your collecting goals for 2012 here. Then come back to the thread and let us know when you've reached that goal or added towards it. Mine: 1. I've been a cheap-skate collector FOREVER. Pretty much any issues over $5 a piece was too much for me. So I'm gonna start focusing more on getting better issues. I have gotten some real gems over the years at great prices or in package deals, but because I'm such a cheapskate they've been few and far in-between. I once got a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #300 for $20, but then went and sold it for $60 for party favors when I was teenager because I was a idiot as a teenager. On my way towards that goal so far I've gotten Amazing Spider-Man #252 (1st chronological appearance of Spidey's Black Costume), Secret Wars #8 (1st in-story appearance of Spidey's Black Costume, and it completes my entire Secret Wars collection of both mini-series!), and I got All-Star Comics #58 (1st issue printed of a JSA-centric comic since the Golden-Age, and 1st Power Girl). 2. Finish off my Ultimates collection already. I've been just a handful of issues away from completing my original Ultimates collection of Ultimates 1, Ultimates 2, and Ultimate Power. 3. Continue building on my Green Lantern collection. I've got a lot, but maybe one day I'll have em all. Check out my thread on my Green Lantern collection here: http://www.comiccollectorlive.com/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=32253I've also got a few non-comic collecting goals. Video game collecting goals: 1. Replace the TurboGrafx-16 my overweight cat broke by sitting on the controller where it plugs in and breaking the controller port rendering it unplayable. 2. Replace my Sega CD which got far too touchy reading game discs. 3. Get a working 3DO system. 4. Get the rest of the Castlevania & Contra titles I need: Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (NES), Super Castlevania IV (SNES), Castlevania: Bloodlines (Genesis), Contra III: The Alien Wars (SNES), Contra: Hard Corps (Genesis), Contra: Shattered Soldier (PS2), & Contra 4 (DS). ***CHECK OUT MY COMIC TRADING LIST, CLICK HERE******TRADE VIDEO GAMES WITH ME, CLICK HERE******TRADE COMIC CARDS WITH ME, CLICK HERE***Make sure that you read and understand the forum rules here

I hope to complete my Booster Gold collection. Then I'll move on to filling in my Green Lantern collection. I may bind my Stand issues and am considering having my Dark Tower issues bound as well. It doesn't matter if it's 50 Cents or 50 Dollars - if you list it as NM it better be NM.Xylob's Most Wanted: G.I.Joe Special Missions TPB 2 Tales from the Transformers Beast Wars: Critical Mass Transformers: Timelines #3 - either cover, no preference. Problems with CCL? 615-264-4747 Offices are open M-F 8am-5pm Central Time. My goals:
1.) Rebag and board 5,000 comics that I still have sitting in some long boxes in my secondary collection. The current bags they are in needed changed.
2.) I plan to cut back on my comic spending this year by 25%. However, I will still continue to support many of the GREAT businesses on CCL as the prices are more responable here than at some of my local comic book stores.
3.) Try to introduce kids in my neighborhood in reading comic books through Free Comic Book Day in early May.

With DCs latest reboot I have already met (exceeded!) this goal. To resist the ever present temptation to haul my DC collection out back and start a bonfire.

Looking for top notch customer service? I recommend Finar Comics, Curious Goods & Comics II and Alpha Comics. Even kids like Atomic Robo. My son reading to his 1st grade class.

1.Main goal is to continue to find as many June 1977 (birth month/year) books I can. 2.Fill in gaps of Marvel Universe figures 3.Fill in gaps of any GL and Uncanny X-Men I can MOST IMPORTANTLY: ORGANIZING!! most my books are just randomly placed in boxes with the exception of GL, The Boys, Walking Dead, Avatar minis (Crossed, Caligula, etc.). Have too many boxes to sort out and go through and rearrange.

1) Re-organization is a must for me! I couldn't find any issue I might be looking for right now if my life depended on it. 2) Part ways with duplicate copies and bad stories. The bad stories will be tough as I'm a bit of a completionist. But, this will probably be easier if I get through #1 above. 3) Get 1/2 way through obtaining my issue holes for completing my X-Men (vol. 1) run. Currently, I'm in need of #1-6, 9, and 13-15. Just 5 issues this year - doable right?

Concentrate more on key issues meaning go for quality rather than quantity. Out of the 3,000+ comics I own, I've only got around 13 keys.

Yeah, pretty much a man cave with a focus on geeky/nerdy stuff. I stole the term from Tom (Dr Fate). It's the room where I keep my computer, Transformers statues, the comics waiting to go downstairs to be filed with the rest of my collection and any action figures/toys I want on display.
