I have a collecting question, were do you guys get your comics graded?

I am a board member with CGC.Don't Tell Anyone

Ever thought of co-promoting with CCL? Buy the comics here, get em graded there. Maybe some sort of discount?

...just a suggestion.

Yeah I tried, but I got flack from people here saying that I can't talk about another forum. The posts were immediately deleted, and I got a little upset.Even though my posts were inline with the subject matter, exactly like comicreaders question they said I couldn't talk about them.I even noted that CGC was a paid advertiser on CCL,so some elected mods took their power a little too seriously.

That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. You were censored for coming up with that suggestion by a mod? That's actually a great idea, i'm sorry that someone with a power trip deleted your threads. CGC is considered one of the most trusted grading companies in the world, having a partnership with them with "buy your comics here, get them graded here" is a great idea. Kudos for thinking outside the box oak and Wicked collection you have yourself there Applause

These are pictures I just have on FB. It's basically my Grimm Fairy Tales collection. I love the art of these covers, I use to have a regular #1 but I won't get into that Angry. I have to take pictures of my first printing #2 and #3 I have when I get a chance.

Grimm Fairy Tales #1 (Wizard World Philadelphia) is probably one of my most favorite modern day covers of all time. With only 500 in existence, the people that own them are actual collectors of the series, meaning they are almost impossible to find. This was actually my FIRST ever CCL purchase here from RJAlvarez (Collector's Paradise) when I just found out about CCL about 6-7 years ago. Dave just sold a VF+ copy (ungraded) for $425.

These all have really low print runs, especially #8 (regular) and the variant.

The regular #9 is hard to find, but the heavy metal version is even harder. Usually sells for $100+ a piece.

The second one is the "naughty" variant limited to 100 copies. The one with the heart is the Valentine Days exclusive limited to 250 copies.

The middle and comic on the right are Goth Variants limited to 100 copies. I own 9 of them and at one time owned 20 (1/5) of the production. Big Grin

This is the "secret retailer" variant. Which means retailers had no idea if they ordered 100 copies of the regular Alice in Wonderland #1 they would get one of these. Making them really hard to find, gotta love Eric's art.

Actually yes, I really enjoy the stories. The covers are made to "sell" and are more for eye candy. The interior has nothing to do with the racy covers other than the actual story. Each one is a horror version of a fairy tale. Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Hansel & Gretel, etc... they all involve a powerful Djinn. If you ever want to check them out, I recommend getting the TPB because the back issues would cost you an arm and a leg. Like Steve (Valiant), I love collecting different covers for certain series. For these I adore the art and the horror story inside.

You know you could pick up the TPB's at your friendly Wicked Comics shop at the cheapest prices online, because no one has the first printing TPB's Big Grin

Very cool, thanks Oak. I need to take pictures of my regular collection, I have a lot of the books you have (just not in as high as grade as yours). Conan #1, Incredible Hulk #181, Amazing Spider-Man #50, 129 etc... The majority of those books are in VF or better condition. With a small few in F or better. For silver age stuff I basically only collect Fine or better. I have TONS of 12 cent Batman's that you would enjoy (as well as World's Finest).

Two other great covers that i added to my collection. Don't you just love Man-Bat. I love that you get a Jason Bard story as well.
