So much for the Nova we knew and grew up with since 1976. So much for the Nova Corps. So much for any Nova continuity. So much for all the great cosmic Nova stories by DnA. All are history as a new monthly Nova series begins early next year. H owe much does this suck !?!

I haven't heard anything about it erasing or ignoring continuity, just that it's a mysterious new character in the costume. ***CHECK OUT MY COMIC TRADING LIST, CLICK HERE******TRADE VIDEO GAMES WITH ME, CLICK HERE******TRADE COMIC CARDS WITH ME, CLICK HERE***Make sure that you read and understand the forum rules here

Doom...Go to Novaprime.com and read all about it. All Nova history means nothing as Marvel re-boots his title with a young Nova (Sam Alexander) in early 2013.

So my hopes of ROM returning in the pages of a Nova comic are officially dashed. Sigh.....

#$@%&! I don't understand why they always have to change the character every time a new writer and artist comes in. Why can't they just concentrate on telling good stories? The last Nova series was awesome! And I'm pretty sure the series sold good. So then Marvel decides to end the series then relaunch it a year or two later while completely changing everything?! I'm not saying I won't give it a chance, its just I loved where Nova was at and going before. This new series will have to completely WOW me from the start for me to keep buying it.

I think the idea nowadays is to maximize commercial exploitation of the trademarks that the publishers own, with no regard whatsoever for any characters, except for those who have demonstrable current market value.
And people wonder why I don't give my loyalty as a customer to publishers or to series anymore, but instead to just the few writers and artists I can count on to produce work worth my time and money.

because each creator is in fact an artiste, doncha know.... everybody wants to put their own personal stamp on any/every project and make it "their own" - this isn't about you, the fan, it's all about them. get with the program, yeesh.... It doesn't matter if it's 50 Cents or 50 Dollars - if you list it as NM it better be NM.Xylob's Most Wanted: G.I.Joe Special Missions TPB 2 Tales from the Transformers Beast Wars: Critical Mass Transformers: Timelines #3 - either cover, no preference. While I can certainly understand everyone's frustration, I haven't read a Nova comic in at least 10-15 years. I may check this out. On the fence with this one.

I've never read a Nova comic in my life so the changes don't mean much to me. But I wouldn't touch this simply because it has Jeph Loebs name on it.

First, I loved the DnA Nova/Cosmic books. However, this isn't new. They did this last year starting in the original Marvel Point One 1-shot, when they introduced the new Nova and even said in interviews that Sam Alexander was the new Nova for the past year. Still getting it though, I love me some Ed McGunness art. Plus, they already disregarded Thanos Imperative when they brought Thanos and Star-Lord back in Avengers Assemble months ago too. Now, who cares about this....I heard they're $%&@#$% up my Amazing Spider-Man run.

This is the Nova from the Ultimate Spidey TV show right? Don't they always kinda make little changes to match more up to movies or tv shows to bring the casual fan into a series?

How did they disregard Thanos Imperative? Didn't read it, but would like to know another example of Marvel disregarding continuity. It's one of the things I hate about Marvel nowadays.

Does this mean that Frankie Raye is coming back!? j/k It seems that the Nova that we knew is gone, because he died. (At least for now) I haven't read anything that shows that this new Nova identity supersedes anything that Richard Rider was. This new series just seems like a practical jumping on point for new readers who have seen him on the cartoon show. So, for this instance, Marvel has kept the continuity of keeping the original Nova dead from the Thanos Imperative. But, it still seems that they've disregarded the other points of this story arc since the Guardians are magically back together and that Thanos, Star-Lord, and Drax are somehow alive. To me, these couple of retcons are pretty large with what it seems Marvel is trying to do by releasing a Guardians movie. I would even accept that the Phoenix resurrected the lot of them before leaving Earth in AvX - just something to tie it together instead of a big fat nothing.

How did they disregard Thanos Imperative? Didn't read it, but would like to know another example of Marvel disregarding continuity. It's one of the things I hate about Marvel nowadays. Drax was killed and Thanos, Star-Lord and Nova were all trapped in the Cancerverse, assumed dead. Rider trapped in the cancerverse cut this universe off from the Nova Force since he was Nova Prime. 1) Having a Nova disregards Rider's sacrifice. 2) Thanos, Drax and Star-Lord in Avengers Assemble disregards this, unless they explain it in Bendis & Bagley's final issue this week.
