I just got a few of these 3D Motion villain covers and didn't expect much. I'm actually pleasantly surprised by the covers. I haven't taken any out of the bag yet but just looking at them...well... Hypnotized you know...

Now, I know there has been a ton of blogging about limited quantities for the 1st print round and so far some how I've been able to get my hands on every single one for cover price or less; except for the ventriloquist cover. i had to buy that one here for over cover price.

Anyone having difficulties finding any covers?

Which one do you think is the best cover (1st Round)? -- The Joker

Now, anyone disgusted at this attempt to siphon more cash from us comic book collectors?

I only picked up the ones for the titles I collect: Batman, Flash, Justice League and JLA. So far I think I like the Batman/Joker one the best.

DC allocated the 3D covers after the shops had placed their initial orders, with no chance of getting any more 3D covers in. Most stores didn't get enough copies to cover the pulls, much less have a large number of extras for the shelves.

In some larger cities, idiots were lining up hours before the stores opened in an attempt to get some of these covers.

DC announced the allocation a few weeks ago. Stores had no idea how many they would get. Somehow some are getting their full orderswhile others have some titles allocated down to 10%. DC also claims that, even with the extra $1 on the cover, they are losing money creating these covers.

It's become yet another "any publicity is good publicity" approaches for DC.

All the 2.99 books were bumped up to 3.99.

The $3.99 books were still $3.99. But all the $2.99 books went up to $3.99.

The books have nothing at all to do with the storylines running in said books. Batman #23.1 has nothing to do with Batman #23 or Batman #24. It's a Joker stand-alone story.

At least CCL didn't have to add 52 new crappy one-shots to the DB. LOL.

And Diamond, at least, did advise the stores of what their allocations would be. It didn't help any, AND, they did so after the first week's cut-off date, which meant that stores couldn't even adjust their non-3D cover orders to cover pulls.

Really? My god and DC is still losing money...too bad. That means this style of cover will definitely be a rare cover to have. Just amazed at the quality. The joker and darkseid are badass! Daydreaming I know places like mycomicshop are selling them for 8 while on ccl they run 6-8.

Yeah, they looked awesome. Much cooler than past lenticular covers I've seen. Very eye-popping.

well that was a a given. especially after reading it. i wonder why DC decided to be a holes with this issue. if its expensive to make why make it and sell at regular price.

I had the opportunity to pick up all of them (my LCS really likes me), but chose to only get a few. The Creeper cover for JL Dark was fantastic.

I could have gotten them all, too, but I really didn't feel the need. I picked up the Joker, Darkseid and Poison Ivy books. I'll probably pick up Cheetah, Harley Quinn and Joker's Daughter. MAYBE Killer Frost, if we have a spare. I think Flash was one of the ones my shop was allocated on.

I picked up the Joker one and Cyborg Superman one for cover price. The covers look pretty cool, though! I should be getting the Green Lantern one in the mail soon, too.

Yeah, my LCS did as well... they just didn't necessarily get as many of some of them as they had ordered.

I stopped by Collectibles ETC today in Lexington,KY to see if they would happen to have any of the 3-D covers. Must to my surprise their shelves were loaded with them(at least 5 copies of each title, some titles more). They were only charging cover price. I guess they don't feel the need to screw their customers unlike some of the remarks I've read on this thread. This isn't aimed at any seller on CCL. I get CCL is an after market site. So prices on here can vary. I just hate it when brick and mortar stores inflate prices on books the moment it hits the shelves just because of demand. It completely shows they only view their customers as walking piggy banks and will try to squeeze every last nickel out of them.
