What if CCL gave you the ability to display your collection to others. What would you do?

Any comments relevant to this post are appreciated.

I was wondering the same.

Only benefit I could see is in trying to track down a book you can't find and seeing it in someone's collection and making them an offer. There's a lot of mechanics to that which I don't think are part of the new CCL but you never know.

Other than that, I don't know why anyone would comb through someone else's collection.

I think a way to make it optional would be the best way to go if this were to happen. Something in your settings on the software or on your online profile. Easy way to please everyone.

I agree. Let the individual decide. I think most of would just like the ability to see our own collection, much less other people's collections.

Not really interested in seeing what others have in their collection. If there's anything I wanted to show off, I'd just start a thread.

When you say public (only for friends to see) how does that work? Are we to be linked like some kind of Facebook network?

Yes the new CCL is going to be a "social media" like site just like facebook, atleast that's what I took away from the CC.

This is incorrect information. There will be some social aspects, but nothing like facebook.

I voted "Private for no one to see", however, I would like the ability to change that from private to public OR to share with whom I decide to. If I want to show my collection to a seller for example, but I shouldn't have to show every store my collection. Little more flexibility might be nice.

I deleted a post made by freakdylan in this poll forum and I want everybody to know the following.

These polls are important and we are looking for feedback from the member base about the feature topic. There are people on these forums who want to see a good product produced that helps them enjoy their hobby even more. We don't need comments about our management style, or how upset you are. We are trying to get constructive feed back to help us finalize this project, and comments that are completely off topic don't help.

Constructive dialog and varying opinions can be expressed about the topic and are welcome. If you love the feature, hate the feature, that is fine, we welcome that. But the following post has nothing to do with this topic, so it was removed.

Thats why admin is always on facebook but never here, practicing :)

Still trying to do a ton of stuff half assed instead of one thing great.

Comments like the one above will be deleted and the person making it banned. Please stay on topic.

Personally, I've been dying to have a venue to show off my collection. I have a lot of real life friends who I would love to share my collection with (I love lending my books for others to enjoy), but with 3,000 books, it's hard for them to even figure out where to start.

I want to be able to share an up to date listing of the books I own that they can check out at any time and discuss with me. I would also love having my collection at the tip of my fingers.

My top choice is to certainly have the option to make the collection private or not, but above all else, I want to able to share access to my collection.

Having friends just come into my comic book room and seeing boxes is impressive, but not as impressive as being able to view details about each issue online in an organized fashion.
