This is something I'm curious about. While I don't know about all the Spider people across the multiverse, 616 Peter in the comics tends to be physically the strongest among them.

For example Miguel from Spiderman 2099 couldn't lift a car to save a girl's life while the most Miles Morales in the comics was able pick up was a van, but he had to use his entire body for it. That's comics Miles though, game Miles definitely has more impressive strength feats.

While just sticking to comics, is there any story reason why 616 Peter has the highest strength among all the Spider people? It's generally around 10 to 15 tons. Generally though since Peter has some more ridiculous high end feats or even power ups, but considering the writers tends to retcon or kill off Peter shortly after to reset his powers, those high end feat don't tend to be canon for very long. Still in general 10 to 15 tons is higher than the other Spider people and is there a reason for it. Is it because all the other Spider people tend to have other powers, so the writers just max out 616 Peter's strength to compensate?

According to the Marvel Universe cards from the nineties, Spidey was said to be able to lift two to ten tons. This was before the other versions of Spider-Man were introduced so his super strength has always been a thing and isn't meant as a power enhancement over any other Spider-Man.

I had always heard that Spidey could lift so much because spiders are said to be really strong because they can lift so much more than their own body weight. Same idea behind ants being said to be the "strongest insects alive." This never made sense to me, because humans are so much bigger than spiders (or ants), and how heavy an object is is related to how large (or dense) the object is that gravity is acting against, which in turn means a larger force (more muscle) is needed to counter that pull of gravity (or weight). Spiders are so tiny, so they don't need much force (muscle) to lift things. Humans are bigger, so they can't lift as much relative to their size. It's not an apples to apples comparison.

Maybe I'm completely off. I'm just a comic guy pretending to be a physicist AND a biologist at the same time on a dreary Sunday morning.
