As you know, we're coming up on a comic collector's favorite holiday next to Christmas...and that's FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! The 1st Saturday in May every year has become one of the most important days of business for brick-and-mortar comic shops bringing in comic fans both new and old to pick up comics and explore some new genres and upcoming titles from various publishers!
You may have seen the words "COMICS GIVEAWAY DAY" floated around when researching FCBD as well. Since there are 2 comic distribution companies now (Lunar and Penguin/Random House), each one is pushing their own branded day: Lunar with FCBD and PRH with CGD.
Whether you're planning to head to the shops to brave the crowds and get them for your collection OR you're a seller with copies to move, CCL has been working hard to make sure these are in the system and ready for your collections.
Because there are 2 different events involving free comics that are essentially the same thing, we've tried to make it easy to locate them in the CCLdb by "tagging" them both with the same event name. This means that any book that's part of the FCBD 2026 event is also part of the CGD 2026 event and vice versa.
The best way to see all of the books is
by clicking here! This will take you to a full listing of all comics tagged under both events for 2026.
These can be found the long way by looking at the menu on this page and clicking Search Library --> Story Arc --> "Free Comic Book Day 2026" or "Comics Giveaway Day 2026".
Hope this information helps! All these publishers do things differently but this is the cleanest way for us to keep it all together in a uniform package for you.
