I don't know what her deal is.

Or the random floating manly arm just under her.

This cover for Grayson #14 is particularly an eyesore for me. (No pun intended)

It doesn't seem too bad at first glance... until you remember that DC regularly publishes 2nd printings of covers with heavily red themes

So many things wrong with this cover. Hypnotized

What's up with SD's grotesquely misshapen hand in the foreground?

The girl is just comically out of proportion. Bizarrely long and thin left arm, strange hair and definite problems in the, um, hip region? Confused

Don't get me started on the syringes she has strapped all over her costume. Her thighs must look like a Connect-the-Dots puzzle. She also appears to be very bored.

I actually usually like Erik Larsen, must have mailed this one in.

The "girl" is Dart. The "syringes" are her darts. She's been around since the beginning of Savage Dragon.

And she's the victim of one of the worst spin-off mini-series of all time. And one of the ugliest too.

Liefeld. Sigh

What's her super power? Abnormally long thighs? Wouldn't she have to have two sets of knees? Confused

Not to mention the blatant pandering to the fanboys by highlighting the er - uh, toe of the camel? Blush

Wha - why would you throw your gun at the terrorists? Wouldn't shooting them with the gun make more sense? Confused

I guess it's working though, the guy in the front seems terrified...Nailbiting

Fun revisiting the entries of this thread.

I'm adding this abomination to the mix today:

Yaep was early to Wagner's game of putting heads over pecs instead of in between. The bicep is as big as his head. And I love his Ken-like action figure anatomy and hips. I don't even know what's going on with Dutch's clothes and body.

I was so ticked off by this cover this week . . . that I decided to resurrect this thread! (Amazing Spider-man #16-B 2018)

Honestly, I think Marvel's whole theme of variant covers that are a theme across all titles and have no relation to the actual contents of the comic is evidence that certain people near the top have certain mental deficiencies.

I can at least partially applaud their efforts when they TRY to make the variant cover relevant to the character, but overall I think it's really stupid.

Even when I like the covers, I still think they suck.

Like this cover:

I love J. Scott Campbell art and that's a great cover.

But it's the variant cover for Venom #8.

And frankly, screw that. I'm not buying an issue of Venom for an X-Men cover.

It's not like Marvel has the monopoly on cover themes. DC did it all the time a couple of years ago. The Darwyn Cooke covers, the Harley covers, the Lego covers, etc.

It's the legs. We can see all of the left leg, and only half of the right leg, yet they're the same size.

I'm pretty sure that DC is better at matching up the covers with the books. The image of Lego Batman is on Batman, not Green Lantern.

Someone should start a thread for Comic Book Covers Where Someone is Missing a Leg. Think

I was debating if this should go here or the "Best Covers" thread but after consideration I decided that it belongs here. But to be fair, it might be so bad that it's good.

On the surface this might seem like a not-so-bad cover but I do not think that it is.

Starting with the center image. Sure we got Archie flattening a goon but then there's Betty swatting a dude with her purse?

D.I.D. Y.O.U. N.O.T.I.C.E. T.H.E. A.N.N.O.Y.I.N.G. O.V.E.R.U.S.E. O.F. P.E.R.I.O.D.S.? Wall

What the hell kind of villain team is that? TWO Dr.'s? OK, Dr. Demon I can get behind. He does look dastardly. But Dr. Nose? Who is this Ringo Starr lookalike wannabe? What would you have to fear about Dr. Nose except that he might snarf up all of your Bolivian Marching Powder. Shame on You

L'il Devill looks like something I see in my Scrabble Tile Holder about midway through the game. Too many "L"s and not enough good vowels.

I do like the sneaky group pic top center and always like the Floating Head Mug Shot Variants but overall I am going to have to call this one a fail.

Don't even get me started on Mr. X. Not Talking

The awfulness of Wolverine's hair is the most obvious culprit here. But that's just a distraction for the real head scratcher that is the Punisher's gun. What's going on here? Is he holding one gun, or two? If it's one, then he's going to have some problems because the barrels don't seem to be parallel with each other. So maybe it's two guns. But then why is he seemingly holding one of them by the barrel? Kind of hard to fire it that way.

Anyone else miss the days when a super villainess would be a sexy bad ass to sell books?
