I want to be clear. I am only posting this for informational purposes.

I have no axe to grind with east Bay and I have not been wronged by them in any way.

I just haven't had any communication with them so thought I would ask here.

I placed an order with them over a week ago. it was my first ever order with them.
It also happened to be larger than my usual order on this site.

Now, I realize that just over a week isn't too long for an order to be received. I realize I may have it waiting for me when I get home today or receive it in the next couple of days, which would be well within a reasonable shipping time.

However, it still shows only as "sold" and not "shipped" in the purchase details and not only have they not answered my message asking for an ETA, but they have not even read it.
When I read his feedback, fast shipping was one of the common pieces of feedback....which is a prime reason I ordered from them In the first place, since I find many CCL stores have slower than average arrival times.

Anyways, I am just curious if anyone has placed a recent order or if anyone knows if they might be on vacation or something or if they routinely are slow to respond to messages....or if I am just being a little OCD. lol.

Just want to make sure I don't have to worry about my larger than average order for my CCL site purchases.

Thank you...and I apologize if this comes off as judgemental of EAst Bay. Not my intent. Just looking for info.

Well, he must still be around, since he just took the time to post this in between taking your order and reading your PM:

Keep in mind that New Year's Eve and New Year's Day fell within your "over a week ago."

Between holidays the week before, post office closure last week and putting together a larger order, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

That said, they should have read and responded to your PM. It's my understanding they may not be as present on CCL as they should be, but I'm sure you'll get your order and likely soon.

Fair point. Maybe that is part of the problem. I made numerous end of the year...pre-2015 budget.....comic purchases (including an awesome six foot captain America from superherostuff.com!!!!!) And all of the other orders have already arrived (including a smaller purchase made on ccl). So I may be overreacting based on some other retailers faster than usual shipping Times.

It's the lack of communication that gives me pause, really.

I placed an order with them a couple of weeks ago, and while they never answered my PM regarding a seperate, higher-priced book I ultimately decided not to purchase, my order did arrive quickly and with no problems.

I think that the previous posting about EBComix really upset them. They haven't really been the same since that posting ... ignoring PMs and such.

What previously posting?
I have zero experience with them but they had a lot of very positive feedback.

Yep. Probably shouldn't have commented, especially since ebcomix was justified in that situation. That'll learn ya. Tongue

Hes probably got your order sitting in the outhouse so they have a nice aroma for you when they arrive Big Grin

Ive never had a problem with him and always been happy with my orders. I personally think week is way to soon to be worrying.

You are right....and, if it arrives in the next week a hero ranking is still deserved. The only reason I asked is because of the fact it still wasn't marked as shipped and he wasn't answering the pm. I was curious if he was on vacation. Or something and I had missed it...especially since he had so much feedback noting fast delivery.

Hi, this is Dave from East Bay Comics and here is my response to Comicuniversity . This has already been sent by PM to the customer. Personal issues have kept me very busy the past few weeks.

Hi, thanks for your patience. One book from your order has eluded me, the Wonder Woman 238. It was probably sold on a previous order and not properly removed from our inventory. CCL doesn't always work as it should. If you want the remainder of your order I can ship tomorrow. If you'd prefer a full refund, I'll cancel and refund immediately

Actually Tamwood, I posted a pic of the Cry For Dawn book you asked about along with a copy of Captain America #100, expecting you to pick up on it but someone else bought it the next day. No hard feelings but first come first served.

I personally think CCL has very little future and have thus focused my attentions elsewhere, believe it or not I think a local Brick and Mortar store is much preferred to dealing with the endless scammifications of online these days

By the way, I picked up another very nice Silver Age collection yesterday, a few Silver Surfer books not easy to find anywhere else...

Happy New Year

Lol. I was just about to post that myself.

All is well. Thank you for your reply eb. I look forward to my order arriving. Fyi...in case you didnt check I replied that I would prefer that you replace the wonder woman with another one.....#265....rather than refunding. Thanks.

Fyi...I believe this is an example if ccl working correctly. A seller had a question about a buyer. He asked in a reasonable manner and received helpful feedback and a response that leads to both buyers and sellers being satisfied.

I never saw anything on that Cry For Dawn book. If I had, I'd have probably pulled the trigger myself. :) And while I do tend to agree that CCL is heading in the wrong direction, I still really haven't found a viable alternative so far. At least, not for what I tend to use them for.

Nothing effects my handling of orders, first and foremost I am a custodian of the old comics and put forward every effort that the comics in my care remain in the same condition I received them in.

What sort of books are on your want list that you can't find on CCL?

masters of the universe 12,batman 357,marvel premiere 1.you have most of the transformers I need(71-80)but can't bring myself to buy them just yet.when I get my tax return each year I treat myself to a few more expensive books that I normaly wouldn't buy.should get tax refund next month and plan on buying maybe 2-3 of my want list books.also looking for hulk 102 and amazing spider man 194.the whole transformer thing is what I want to finish the most but I need 71-80 minus 78.i figured it would cost me almost $200 for those 9 issues and would rather buy a 2 or 3 older want issues than those right now.i looked for a year or two before buying a nice gijoe 155 at a flea market for $50 instead of the ones people are asking $100 and more for.same goes for marvel premiere 47,i kept looking and found a nice one for $65.no nice ones on here for that price.
