Oh Canada, my distant ancestral homeland!

323 years ago my 7th great-grandfather was born and would become a leader of his people and leave an incredible ethnic imprint on his new homeland of the United States (US Colonies at his time).

On this Canada Day, I give you Joseph dit Broussard who led the Acadians to Louisiana after being expelled from Canada and was militia captain of the Acadians of the Atakapas.

Many of his sons fought in defense of the newly formed United States of America.
