Okay this came to me after watching several videos on how Game Freak, the creators of Pokemon, clearly have no clue how measurements work like.

Ignoring the ridiculous sizes, what I find funny is that these pokemon weights are not only significantly lighter than real life animal weights, but are also within human lifting capabilities. For example these women lifting or moving 1000lbs.

What’s jarring is that both the anime and games treats these weights like they’re significant. I remember the show had a episode where they stumble upon a Snorlax (1012 lbs), which is based off an actual part of the game that prevents you from progressing forward, and they portray 1012 lbs like it’s the equivalent of moving a skyscraper. I also remember a episode from the show where a freakin Geodude was able to get a overturned cruise ship to tip over depending what side it went on. Also heard the later generation games implemented mechanics where these weights actual increases the damage of attacks while the show you rarely see anyone able to lift more than 1000 lbs (unless they’re a floating Pokemon). So both show and games apply to these weight dynamics and the heaviest Pokemon is about 2200lbs which is suppose to be astronomical for the Pokemon world when in reality there are dogs who can move like twice that amount. An Amazon delivery van weighs between 6600lbs to 7000lbs for comparison.

So that got me thinking, is the Pokemon world just weak as hell considering much, or more specifically how little, they can move and lift? It’s a scenario where a real world human who’s among the stronger side can literally break through walls and buildings in Pokemon world like they’re the Terminator. While the actual Terminators and other characters around that strength level would probably be using like ocean liners in the Pokemon world as melee clubs.

If Pokemon and Super Mario ever did a crossover, I’m picturing the beginning of Del Toro’s Frankenstein movie where Jacob’s monster moves that vessel ship, except here Mario, Luigi or Yoshi in their current levels are lifting up a entire island with a city on it as the Pokemon characters act like the crew of that vessel ship. Though guess Yoshi wouid be more appropriate in this context. If Metal Gear characters were in Pokemon, Jack Raiden will likely suplex the entire Johto region LOL. Probably sounds like a exaggeration, but probably not even by much. Actually now that I think about it, Mario, Luigi or Yoshi might be able to lift up the entire Johto region.

Also crazy to think Emperor Palpatine, Krato and maybe even Darth Vader would be world ender level in Pokemon world in the sense if they directly hit the world, they can legitimate break it a part into pieces depending how many hits they use. Bayonetta can likely split Pokemon world apart with one judo chop or kick.
