I've gone through all the books I've ordered/preordered from you up through APRIL08 and here are the ones I'm still missing. If any of them have had their release dates changed then I don't mind waiting for them but since it's now the second week of July I'm thinking the rest should have arrived by now. Can you please give me an update on their status? Thanks, Jim
Jim,

The majority of these are from the month's we missed piling into the weekly. Let me get with Kym and figure that out. I have a big pile for you to be included with this weeks.

Russ.

Russ,
I'll be starting a chargeback dispute with my credit card company over the books I've ordered for August and most likely for what I paid toward priority shipping on past orders.

I'm seriously unhappy with the time it's taking you to send out my books even though I'm paying extra for priority shipping and the fact that so many have been missed. July 02's books should have been here by today and they are still not and it's just blowing my mind. Understandably July 4th held things up for one day but regardless having them shipped via Priority would have landed them here by today. I'm now wondering about July 9th's books. Because of the holiday Diamond books were actually released July 10th so does that mean it will now be TWO weeks that I receive my books later than I should?

I'm really sorry to have to be this way but I feel that I've been incredibly patient and my patience has simply run out.
I order from comic book sellers on the east coast all the time via Priority and every time, 100% of the time, they arrive 2-3 days later as promised. When I ask questions they always, 100% of the time, give me succinct and concise answers and I never get that from you. I just don't understand why it's so difficult to get that same service with ComicSupply.com.

The first month I began receiving books tracking numbers were emailed to me and books appeared to be sent and arrive on time. I really don't know what has changed but I'm feeling like it's time for me to move on. Again, I don't mean to be harsh but I'm just at the point where I don't feel that it's working out for me here.

Sincerely,
Jim

Jim,

I don't even understand exactly what the issue is. First off, shipping for July (first week) were delayed because Friday was a holiday so the mail didn't move. We get a LOT of books on a Wednesday and it takes 2 guys, a full workday to just sort out what is needed for weekly shipments and what is needed for our monthly shipments. Normally our weekly shipments go out on Friday, so being that that Friday was a holiday they didn't ship until Monday of this week.

Also, because of the holiday we didn't receive this WED's books until today and they also will not ship until Monday or Tuesday of next week.

As far as missed titles, I am only human. Please understand that I make mistakes from time to time. As I stated before all your other preorders which were made after you made the weekly upgrade will be included with this week's. I didn't notice that you had other preorders with I believe your 2nd month's orders. Our system only pulls orders with the words "UPGRADE" in them, so the others were left off the list.

The JUN08 code's haven't even came in yet so I am unsure exactly why you would chargeback anything. Why not just stop ordering from me? We will be charged for them, and they will come in and be shipped as stated. I told you before that sometimes shit happens. Sometimes the shipments are so damaged that I have to wait to get replacements, and sometimes there are mis-ships from Diamond and we don't get things they say we have been shipped. We are not your local mom and pop shop who gets 300-600 books a week. We order and get on a weekly basis anywhere from 4-6000 comics. It takes time to sort/bag/board/pack/ship those and that is exactly why it takes the extra 2 days to get the books shipped out.

The holiday's slow things down, damages slow things down, mis-shipments slow things down, mistakes happen, errors are made. Recently I have added new employees to the rosters to help speed things up. If you want to pack your bags and leave I am not going to stop you, or beg you to stay. In reality I don't need the business as I have too much. All I can say is that things will get back on track with the speed of shipments. I can not promise that it won't happen again due to weather conditions, or shutdowns, or holidays, or damages, or mis-shipments but in as far as having the man power to do it, this has been addressed and handled.

I also don't know exactly who you are comparing me to with your east coast comment. If comic's came in during the beginning of the week then you would most likely have a package every Saturday. But, due to the volume we get in, and the volume that has to go out, I personally feel that a shipment 2 days after the comic shipment comes in is not unnacceptable.

Also, on another note, titles will be missed sometimes due to damages not being replaced by Diamond, or the fact that some issues are shorted the first time around. I do as I stated before have a large list of books for you to be included with this week's shipment.

Please let me know if there is anything else.

Russ

The reason for charging back the JUNE08 books is simple enough. You don't honor cancellations.
I am unhappy with the service and therefore I should not be held accountable for any future service should I decide to leave.
I have given it enough time (3 months) to know for certain of how satisfied or dissatisfied I am with said service. It is clear I am dissatisfied.
Commenting that you "really don't need the business" also helps to solidify the fact that service is NOT your number one priority. I'm sure this will help my case when issuing the dispute.

I found your site via ComicCollectorLive.com, a sort of eBay for comic books. The sellers on that site are made up primarily of Brick and Mortar stores and Full Online stores that also get in 4000-6000 books a week. I can order from them, on Wednesday, and receive my books 2-3 days later depending on when they get them to the post office. That is the big difference here, when they get them to the post office. Of course it's going to take longer for a package to arrive if they don't get to the post office by Friday late afternoon and choose not to drop packages off on Saturday when the post office is still open and servicing.

As far as missed titles, I'm glad to hear that they will be sent with this weeks late shipment but regardless they should have been sent a week ago if they did not have the work UPGRADE in them as those orders are sent by the end of the month if I understand your Free Shipping policy clearly. Not to mention the NON Pre-Order books that have been 'pending' since May which most certainly should have been sent out by now.

Your man power issues and system mistakes are not my problem and I shouldn't be made to suffer for them. As a paying customer I expect a certain level of service and when that level is not met I am obligated to rectify the situation by getting my money back. In this case the money I upgraded for Priority Mail service, which turned out to be no different than the Media Mail service as far as when the books arrive, and the future order I paid for which I no longer want.

On a personal level, I don't really appreciate your flippant "I don't care" attitude either. People that pay money for a service are entitled to certain level of satisfaction and should never be met with an "I don't care because I already got your money" attitude when they don't get it. So now, not only have you lied to me about the availability of a book and blamed it on Diamond when in fact it was an error in your system (have you even refunded me for that yet?), you've also been rude to me when I've expressed my unhappiness with the service and even gone so far as to use profanity to express yourself in doing so. Is there a reason I should be happy about any of this?

Jim,

Firstly, you really haven't suggested to me when these issues with the service started. I believe I have explained to you that 1 week's delay was caused by UPS Damage shipments, and another week delay was caused by a mis-shipment where we got another store's items. A damage week means that we have to wait another week to get them, and the same with the other week. Now, you didn't really miss a beat because I went to a local shop here and got the issues for you and repaid them with the issues once they arrived to me.

I also had a personal family emergency that happened during the April and May. I was out of the office for 2 weeks and the only people I handled during that time were my weekly customers (albeit a bit more slow than normal)

Look, I'm not going to sit here and say we did no wrong. Sure, I am sure that I could of explained the CGC book a bit more clearly. And yes, I certainly wish the delays and damages didn't occur but those are outside of my control. And yes, we started to grow a little too quickly and I needed to find the manpower to man the shop. Certainly these aren't your problem but it is all part of the growing pains of a company and there are going to be bumps in the road.

What I meant (as I'm sure you read it correctly) was that I am not dying for the business. I have too much, and while I would like you to say, I am not going to apologize for things that I have no control over. In fact, the VAST majority of issues with the delays have been due to UPS Damages and mis-shipments. In fact, take Secret Invasion Fantastic Four #2, they billed us for all of the copies and never shipped us one. If you want to leave my service because of delays that I don't have control over then no, I don't care. If I can't control it, and make it better why should I lose sleep over it? Sure, I wish those thing's didn't happen but they do, and I just have to roll with the punches.

I have learned that in this business for every customer who doesn't understand these situations and won't just "roll with the punches" there are 10 that do. The one's I CARE about are the one's who understand that sometime's things just don't work out as we all would hope for it to.

Your order's a bit fudged up. I had you in the weekly file and the preorder people assumed that I had you and they didn't really know that the files weren't with me. When you brought it to my attention I pulled them and had the stacks at which point I started to pull them for you. As far as titles missing from the UPGRADE order, again, I make mistakes and maybe just missed them. If they are not checked off on the lists then I must of just missed them. On any given Wed's I am looking at so many lines of text and so many numbers that sometimes I just miss stuff.

Now, I have no idea why it take so long for the packages to get to you. You can see that I send them Priority mail and not Media mail as you have suggested. Media mail will take 7-14 mailing days. Priority mail takes what... 4-5 mailing days maybe from Michigan? Saturday past 1pm doesn't count, and neither does Sunday, so if I drop them at the post office on Friday night, they aren't collected until Sat, and probably don't leave Michigan until Monday, then it takes 3-4 days from that day.

In all honesty I can tell you this. Running a business isn't easy, and it isn't quite as cut and dry as consumers like to make it out to be. Consumers tend to think everything must work out to their expectations because they pay for something. The reality is, sometimes things don't work out that way, and its a lot like life in that we plan and hope for the best, but sometimes poop happens. Each customer is important and each dollar is important. Working for yourself is nothing like working for someone else. I don't work for the Man, I am the Man, and when I screw up, I have nobody to blame but myself, and nobody else to fix it but myself. And if things happen that I can't control, I can sit around whining about it all day, or realize I can't change it and just accept it. It isn't that I don't care about your business, I do. It isn't that I don't care about you getting good service, I do. But, this is the first time I have heard that you were really unhappy. I thought that when I explained the delays you understood the reasoning. The reasons are beyond my control and I can not change that.

I do not for ONE second believe that I have cussed at you, or been rude to you. If you have some sort of incident to point out, please do so because I don't recall any of that.

Look, in the end, I am just going to refund your Jun order because it's clear to me that your level of expectation is beyond what I can provide. I have shipped each and every week of yours. The thing that you are dissapointed in here is the level of speed of the USPS and the delays that were not caused by me. Your patience level is clear to me in that I responded to you on WED as to what I was going to do, and on THUR you send me the "cancel chargeback" email.

So here is what I am going to do.

I am going to ship out your July books as normal, and will include all missing titles from all other orders as well as the one you told me about (I am sorry, I wasn't aware of the pending order). At the end of the month, I will tally up what is missing and what is owed (CGC, missing books, etc) and will send your last shipment with a corporate check from us detailing what exactly wasn't included and the amounts of those items.

This is probably the statement that irks me the most. Nowhere in Russell's replies does he offer any sort of consolation, or even understanding. Whether or not he can control these circumstances, he is The Man and must be accountable, it's that easy.

I'll bet a simple apology would have gone a long way with this individual.

This reminded me far too much of a few transactions I have had in the past.

Thank you for sharing this JimNunn.

We comic consumers need to trade experiences like this when they are pertinent. Purchasing comics on a regular basis can be extremely difficult, and we need to know which stores are the most professional at packing, shipping, and filling orders.

I find it astonishing that this comic retailer does not understand the importance of getting your weekly comics in a very quick manner. This is why I so rarely purchase current series on-line. I NEED to read them on Wednesday or Thursday of the week they come out. I can, of course, understand a legitimate delay, though.

I also found it somewhat disturbing that this retailer does not seem to understand how paying for a product or service works, and what the obligations of both parties are. That was most alarming.

Anyway, the sad part is that I can more or less understand both parties problems in this.

Oh, and also, do mis-shipments and damaged shipments and whatever really happen with the regularity that this retailer suggests? If not, does ComicSupply.com just have really bad luck? Or, if so, how in the world does Diamond stay in business?

At the two LCR's that I purchase my current comics from there have been none of these mis-shipments or damaged shipments within recent memory. (I purchase my comics the day the shipments come in, so you would think I would remember the cashier saying "Hey, we got the wrong shipment this week", or "Whoa, these books are all damaged".

Well, then he won't miss my buisness/money either. That's a great way to lose customers by talking like that. I know most people learn of sellers by word of mouth. And there's no reason for all that delay. Yes you are human, but guess what? This is your buisness. You offer a service and yes, you are expected to deliver on time and correctly. I'm sorry, but if you can't handle that, please find another occupation. You should plan for growth. Why wouldn't you? All these excuses are just that, excuses. :-({|= I'm sure he wouldn't like the same treatment from places he buys things....now that I put in my 2 cents, I'm feeling better.

Besides, I'd rather shop with Castle anywho. Talk about a really nice, great comic guru. >:d<

Yeah, I've posted my displeasure with ComicSupply.com on these forums as well. I didn't get into as much detail as Jim did, but I pretty much went through the same hassle and communications as he did. But my biggest problem was getting just getting a response at all. They've been flagged as spammers with att.net, so their e-mails wouldn't even go into my spam folder, they just would not go through.

The unprofessionalism in dealing with customers is staggering. I got the same excuses. Who tells a customer they had to deal with a family emergency? I got a similiar excuse from his assistant, Kym. That she was sick with the flu. And when I explained I hadn't gotten any of their e-mails, they blamed me for it! I verified with my service provider and it definitely wasn't me.

I had waited several months to get my shipments and for my last pre-order, it was held because there was an independent title that was delayed. If one title in your order is delayed (for the free shipping service), they hold the entire order. They said that if I'd have made another pre-order, they would have shipped the books out but by that time I was so disgusted I didn't want to make another pre-order. Meanwhile, to this day that book has not been released and by their policy and had I not complained, I still would never have received my order. They never refunded me for the book either but for 2 dollars and change, it's just not worth the aggravation.

They offer great prices but their service sucks. I will never order from them again.

Pat, had I not already replaced my pre-orders elsewhere I would totally have taken you up on your offer. I didn't even think to ask. I'm sorry.

Quick update though, I'm still waiting on July 2nd books. It's now Friday and supposedly he mailed them out on Monday from Michigan via Priority mail. By my count 2-3 days would have put them in my hands by today on the outside although I expected them yesterday. I get orders all the time from you east coast guys on here in 3 days on the outset. I'm just glad I only have to deal with his crap for a few more weeks.

I'm also super-super glad to hear you guys will not be using his services either. One of the things that bothered me most from what he said was that for every unhappy customer there are 10 more that are happy. I think what he doesn't realize is that negative experiences travel four times faster than positive ones do and eventually it will catch up with him.

Hopefully he'll stumble onto this thread someday and read what you all had to say and think twice about the way he treats customers in the future. That might be a little optimistic but you never know...

I am aware of everyone's opinion of ComicsCastle and I am aware of how valuable his participation is to most people in this forum. I don't think I have participated in any "adversarial" (re: highly opinionated) threads recently. But, I may have to check, can't remember for sure.

Wow, you guys took it completely wrong and jumped all over me for a compliment?

Good god, I guess I know where I stand in this community. I'm obviously the bad guy who just wants to get in arguments with everyone and ruffle peacock feathers.

Consider my compliment immediately withdrawn.

By the way, would love to know what you mean by ME being "one of a kind". It is not something good, obviously.

I don't think an misunderstanding of this magnitude should have been produced over the words "You are one of a kind."

Anyway, I'm feeling some hate toward me, and I'm not understanding why.

But I'm not really interested in getting this cleared up with you. You just keep your prejudice, and I'll just keep my distance from you on the forum. This way we can both be happy.

Hmm, started off as an information leak concerning the horrible customer relations of comicsupply, turned into a little sidebar discussion/arguement about 'advertisement', and now we're back to the hideous customer relations of comicsupply.com.

Summed up? Good.

Anyway, this Russell dude from comicsupply.com a) Does not have a degree in Business Management b) if he does, he had tutors pass the courses for him.

In no shape, or form, or in any design did I see a business person's attitude or comment come from his emails.

I don't know the guy, nor have I ever done buisness with comicsupply.com (shameless plug/advertising/good word of mouth/support/whatever here), I use Finar Comics and have for many, many happy years btw,, ;) but I do have a Business Degree, of which I earned, I have ran my own businesses - successfully imo and this guy is off his rocker with posting/writting that sorta thing in an email format that can be copy/pasted in todays, highspeed internet era.

You think word of mouth advertising is fast, there's no comparison to internet speeds - think 'viral'. This will bankrupt comicsupply.com.

Like I said, I don't know this guy, but this, in all reality, could be devastating for the guy. And the single worst thing he's ever done for his company. Too bad really, but buyers don't need these types of dealers to begin with. Find someone you like and deals fairly with you, makes you happy (like I have) and enjoy this industry.

Jim,

I hope any of my posts in the past about Comicsupply.com were not the reason that you started ordering from them. I believe I posted about their poor service and slow shipping but I also posted that they are very cheap for supplies, especially when bought in large quantities.

I had a similar experience to yours with him focusing on the fact that he has insufficient staffing and that the sale that he was having was bigger than they could handle. I think it took 2 or 3 weeks after I placed my order for them to ship it. When I got it a few books were missing but the packages for the comic bags were ripped. This was due to the fact that they just lay the comics and supplies in the box and then blow peanuts on top of all of it. Of course everything shifted when the UPS guy put the box up against my garage door because it was raining that day.

So anyway I have learned the importance of customer service when buying or selling comics and don't check out the comicsupply site like I did before. I would never pre-order from them as I have heard nothing but bad things about the way they pull and ship books.

Oh BTW, I just read on his site that due to "The rising cost of Oil" (which has actually been dipping) he now charges a nominal fee for all bags and boards (which were previously free) and $4.99 for what was once free shipping. Glad I jumped ship when I did...

Now this is what really rubs me the wrong way. I work for the post office and he's putting the blame on us. Even if shipped on Sat. if you got it there before they close it WILL go out on a truck that day. Then it will get to the processing plant that evening where it will be shipped out the next day if not that night. The mail never stops, even on Sundays. We have plants and trucks that run 7 days a week. The mail only stops at its destination office. Even on Sundays there is a Clerk there to unload the trucks delivering mail for Monday.
Russ,
The books arrived on Monday, thank you for sending them.
I just wanted to give a quick update on what was still pending
and what has been received.

In the UPS package I received orders 11621 and 11828 (Thank you). Both were
complete except 11828 was missing 1 x Ultimate Iron Man II #5.

Orders still outstanding are.....Thanks,Jim
And I go on to list about $140 worth of books.
Jim,

Ultimate Iron Man #5 has not been released yet (as far as I know)

#12258 will be shipped with your last weekly shipment so that I know of.

A vast majority of the rest, such as Sinbad #2, and the DF covers have also not been released. I will be unable to get Secret Invasion Fantastic Four #2 as we were 100% shorted and am unable to locate any from Diamond or local shops.

I will pull the rest with your last weekly shipment.

You have a shipment going out Friday of this week so I will see if it is packed already, if it isn't I will put in what I can, if not, I will keep them for the last shipment.

Russ

Sounds good. Thank you Russ.
I went on vacation for a week expecting to come back to a box of comics. Instead...
Hi Russ,

Did the 23rd books get sent out UPS instead of USPS Priority again? You mentioned that they were going out on Friday of July 26th which is why I ask. Priority would have been here by now and I still haven't seen them.

Jim,

Our systems were shut down last Friday as our servers crashed and we lost processing on our credit cards (which still isn't fixed)

I shipped it out UPS Insured on Monday, included was a note of missing titles as well as a refund check.

Russ

Oh ok. So this is the last shipment with the books from the 23rd, 30th and titles from past orders (provided they werent' missing)?

It was a 5 wednesday month so we only ship 4x. So, this shipment covers the last 2 weeks of the month as well as some missing items from other preorders, as well as your backissue order. There is still A LOT of missing titles that have yet to come in. I have refunded you for anything that I will not be able to get or anything that doesn't look like it is coming.

I enclosed a letter as well as a refund check which details everything.

Look, I know we didn't really get along like great friends and to be honest I acted like a dick, and I apologize for that as it clearly wasn't as professional as I like to pride myself on trying to be. If you ever come back to us, I will certainly make it up to you and put you on the top of my list of priorities every week. Again, please accept my apology. If you don't that is ok, but I know how hard it is to eat your pride so I know that I at least have taken that step.

Russ
So here he's now telling me that books are only shipped out 4 times a month during a 5 week month. Fair enough. Except that when we first began doing business together I specifically asked him to ship each and every week to which he agreed. Now, he is apparently backpeddling on that.

He also tells me that he 'shipped' my books out on Monday. Well this is where everything falls into place for me. I come home today expecting to see a box of comics on my door step because that's what the UPS tracking number said when I looked at it on Monday. The reality is he didn't actually 'ship' it on Monday. He sent in the billing information and then waited until Wednesday to drop it off at the UPS site which meant that it actually got mailed out on Thursday. Here is the tracking info.

This guy couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it. "Hi Jim I shipped out your books on Monday!" should have actually ben "Hey Jim, I'll be dropping your books off at the UPS store on Wednesday so they should be headed out to you by Thursday."

Well, now I gotta wait till next Tuesday to receive my books from this douche because he can't be bothered to actually get the books to the place where they really do get shipped - in a reasonable amount of time.

On the bright side my new comic guys are rock solid. I just got my first group of books (from August 6th) today and it really did only take 2 days to get here!

Moral of the story is, if you're not happy with bad service find it elsewhere! And certainly don't toloerate a business person that is willing to abuse you. And above all, spread the word. If a business person is truly terrible you owe it to your friends, family, and fellow collectors or whom ever they might be to let them know. Thank you to everyone that has read, listened and replied. Please feel free to send this thread to every comic collector you know so they don't end up in the same situation as I did.

Cheers!

Nope I'm still waiting on them. Here is the latest.
Hi Russ,
I received the last shipment of books. Thank You. I've also had a chance to reconcile everything with the note you sent and it all looks good with the exception of 3 unaccounted for comics.
Order #12239
1x Jokers Asylum Poison Ivy
1x Secret Invasion Runaways/Young Avengers
Order #12258
1x Ultimate Spider-Man #102

I don't mind waiting for the rest of the books to come in and be sent to me as they arrive. It looks like several of those books have already been released the first couple weeks of this month so those can be shipped for now. Once all the rest have arrived I'll send money for shipment of those.

How do you plan on tracking these books as they come in and notifying me when they are all available?

Here is a list of books that can be shipped now. Media Mail is fine.
4x Batman #679
4x Fantastic Four #559
3x Final Crisis #3
1x George R Martins Wild Call #4
2x Hulk #5
1x Jokers Asylum Poison Ivy #1
1x Secret Invasion Runaways/Young Avengers #2
1x Ultimate Spider-Man #102

That leaves 38 books left to be accounted for. I'll do my best to keep track of each title and when it becomes available.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Russ,

I haven't heard back from you on this. Can you send me an update please?

Hi Russ,

It's been 10 days since I emailed you and I haven't heard back from you on this. Can you please answer my questions?

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

So, to make sure I understand this right, you would liek me to ship everything that I have for you now at my expense, and when the others come in, ship to you at your expense?

Russ

Yes, I'd like you to send me any other books that have come out this month including the books listed below. They have all been released with the
exception of Ultimate Iron Man II which comes out this Wednesday.

1x Jokers Asylum Poison Ivy <------------------------missing from last shipment
1x Secret Invasion Runaways/Young Avengers <------missing from last shipment
1x Ultimate Spider-Man #102 <-----------------------missing from last shipment
4x Batman #679
4x Fantastic Four #559
3x Final Crisis #3
1x George R Martins Wild Call #4
2x Hulk #5
1x Jokers Asylum Poison Ivy #1
1x Secret Invasion Runaways/Young Avengers #2
1x Ultimate Spider-Man #102
1x Ultimate Iron Man II #5 <-----comes out this Wednesday, 8/27

Why did it take 12 days to get back to me? Were you on vacation?
I'm still waiting on them to arrive although if he did wait to send them so that he could pack in Ultimate Iron Man II #5 it could be next week sometime till I see them. who knows...

Seriously the worst experience I've ever had with a seller.

Sorry for your loss, these days 200 bucks really hits the wallet, but you are educating other buyers to stay away from creeps like this. With all the things going down now, like not knowing if your job is safe from cutbacks, the rise in prices at stores, gas prices, etc, you have to budget your money wisely. I had three strokes that ended my working career and I"m on disablity so the money is tight. I could not lose two hundred dollars, thats two months of collecting. I was lucky I have a friend that charges me $1.40 on $3.99 comics. I can not go out and ride my motorcycle or play softball or all other normally healthy persons outdoor activitys like I did before. I stepped away from comics for a long time I was busy with work and social life, so after the strokes it was perfect to go back to comic collecting, it helped in the begining with reading, ya thats right I had to learn to walk, read and talk again folks. Now comics are a pleasure, the thrill of the chase, kicking back and reading some great stories. So it's cool to learn about the great people to buy from and the losers not to buy from. I hope you luck next time and I saw that you are from washington state, if you don't mind what city are in. See ya in the funny pages bye

wow i applaud the owner of this site for sticking this topic and here i thought i was going to bump it. I bought from comicsupply.com and am hoping i am not ripped off, yet sadly it looks like i have. How sad not just for me or the possibly hundreds of people who must have been ripped off by this site/ guy/family but for them as well to have the site, and services to make a living and instead maybe using it to rip people off. to take a hobby that is meant to be fun and instead to turn it into a nightmare for some.

maybe it would do no good or may cause problems for this site but has anyone sent this guy the link to this topic as a heads up or a warning to this guy? or would it just be a waste of time?

I hope with this topic being sticky this guy turns it around or if not at least through this site, topic and word of mouth we will see the end of his site. I am thinking of filing a bbb report even if it does not work at least his site will be on thiers or have many already reported him? Anyone know what town or city he is based in?

Hello. I just signed up in order to share my two cents about comicsupply.com. I found the site awhile back and placed an order on July 30 for three packs of bags and a pack of dividers. A week later, on August 6, my order status was still "Pending Shipment," yet I noticed my credit card was charged on August 2. I decided I'd wait another week. Perhaps things were just running slow. But I did leave a comment under my order just saying I wanted to double deck and make sure there was nothing wrong with my order, or if they were simply out of stock.

In the meantime, I decided to look around the web for any customer experiences with this site, and I found this thread through a Yahoo search. Immediately, I became worried. "Great," I thought. "Just my luck I'd find a professional-looking site that's only gonna get my ripped off." I read all the horror stories of people waiting months or years for their orders, if they ever got them at all. I decided I'd still wait another week, and if my order hadn't shipped by August 13 (two weeks after I placed it) I'd start trying to get in touch with them, at least as a place to start.

To my surprise, I woke up on August 10 to find an email notification that a comment had been left for me under my Order Status. I checked it, and it was from Russell and said the following: "Thanks for writing. I thought I had written everyone about the various states of delay that we are going through right now. I attended a convention which took me 10 days to get ready for and attend. Also, we are waiting on a restock of comic bags (from China) and mylars (from the USA). By the end of this week we should have your outstanding order, as well as everyone's elses shipped out. I thank you for being patient during this time. Nothing is going the way that it should and I apologize for this."

I was surprised to hear from him after reading the stories here. I started thinking, "Okay, I actually heard from the guy, so maybe things won't be so bad after all." On August 12 I had another comment, again from Russell and saying: "Thanks for being so patient. I have included a 4th free pack of bags for the delays here." My Order Status was also updated from "Pending Shipment" to "Shipped."

Again, I thought, "Great. Hopefully this will be end up being fine." Two days later -- today, August 14 -- my order arrived in the mail. I was like, "Okay, this is it. I've either got my order or I'm indeed ripped off and it'll be all screwed up." The horror stories in this thread where still nagging at me. So, I open up my box and take everything out. Three packs of resealable bags and a pack of dividers, just like I ordered, plus the extra 4th pack Russell said he was throwing in.

I must say, I'm quite surprised. This thread had me really worried. After reading through here, I certainly wasn't expecting my order to arrive anytime soon, if at all.

Anyway, just wanted to add my own experience. I probably won't order from them again just to be on the safe side (at least not a $40+ order like this one was), but I'm happy everything went fine, and now I can start bagging all of my comics.

(Part 2)In case you were wondering whether or not to buy from ComicSupply.com...

My order from comicsupply.com has been listed as "pending shipment" for a month. They aren't responding to my email questions and I can't rouse them by phone. $49.99 was charged right away but I've gotten nothing so far. I'd feel better if they were at least communicating with me.

So today I've emailed them through their site asking for a refund.

Now that I look, I don't see an actual mailing address on the site, does anybody have it handy? I'll contact BBB etc. next if need be with a complaint.

I see complaints about this company all over the web. I wish the company would just close down if they can't run a business correctly. Or are they a scam?

Heh, I just realized this thread was moved over to the water cooler. Great to see people keeping this alive with more posts. I didn't realize Russell signed up as a CCL member but it looks like there's been no activity on his account since so hopefully he saw this and decided to steer clear.

Just read through this topic, this is too bad. I used to order supplies from him all the time. I never had any issue whatsoever but my last order was in 2007 which seems like it may have been before everything started falling apart. I just now used up the last of my supplies I bought way back in 2007 (was a huge order) and I was looking to place another order but apparently I shouldn't. It's too bad, they were definitely the cheapest place to get eGerber supplies for me.
