What about

Kyle - "What happened? I thought you were going to kill yourself."

Cartman - "I tried. Went to sleep in my moms car in the garage with the engine on."

Stan - "But you didn't die?"

Cartman - "Freaking Hybrids man. They just don't do the trick anymore."

Cool, I'm all for that.

Yeah, last night's episode was the end of season 12.:~<

Found this on Wiki...

Season 13: 2009
The thirteenth season of South Park will air in March 2009 with 7 new episodes, and again in October 2009 with 7 more new episodes. The DVD of the season will be released in August 2010. South Park has been renewed for three more seasons bringing the total to 15 seasons.

You can also watch every single episode on their website, South Park Studios. The good news is they post the newest episodes before they premiere on CC, the bad news is you have to watch 3 commercials...and it crashes frequently. At least on my computer it does...what's that site again?

You gotta be a Leary fan to get just about any of that.

To them, these kids were posers.

I must have missed said acknowledgment. If you have the CD you must be very familiar with the "Life's Gonna Suck" song, been ages since I heard that, I never got the CD but I have the double DVD of the 2 shows. The full show of No Cure has some great stuff that's not on the CD I had in high school, like him talking about his dad.

Well, since this is the South Park thread, and we are in hiatus until friggin' March ............... how about we discuss our favorite SP bits.

I will say my ALL TIME favorite SP moment was in the movie, when Cartman did the "Kyle's mom is a b!tch" song.

Some honorable mentions for me are; the ending of "Scott Tenorman Must Die", Butters' actions in the Lord of the Rings episode, the time when you get to see what Cartman sees when he closes his eyes, when Mr Garisson asks the kids if they had seen his penis, and to offer it some cheese, and of course the episode when everyone is pooing orally.

We can also do most shocking moment, but the problem is, I already know the winner by a LAND SLIDE.

Randy Marsh, and a computer ........... need I say more?

Again, honorable mentions; Red Rocket, Kenny getting high on cat pee, and the mouse with Mr Garisson's penis singing ala "American Tale" on the fence in the moonlight.

The floor is now open for more on this.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled thread...

One of my favorite episode is "Death Camp of Tolerance" for two reasons...
1) the scene where they teach the kids about the evils of hatred, and the glories of toleration...then they freak out because a guy is *gasp* smoking a cigarette! And,
2) The Ballad of Lemmiwinks!

Not to mention all of Ike's scenes b/c he's cute.
Obscenely hilarious? Butters walking around with a star in his eye. The initial crying was just adorable. Then he's walking around acting like a dog. It's just too much!

Hmm shocking? People pooing through their mouth. I seriously didn't see it coming.

I always loved this one:
Vote or die muthafucka, muthafucka vote or die
Rock the vote or else I'm gonna stick a knife through your eye
Democracy is founded on one simple rule
Get out there and vote or I will muthafuckin’ kill you

Yeah

I like it when you vote bitch (bitch)
Shake them titties when you vote bitch (bitch)
I slam my jimmy through your mouth roof (mouth roof)
Now get yo’ big ass in the polling booth

I said vote, bitch, Or I fuckin’ kill you

Vote or die muthafucka, muthafucka vote or die
You can't run from my .38 go ahead and try
Let your opinion be heard, you gotta make a choice
’Cause after I slit your throat, you won't have a fuckin’ voice

I think it's hilarious that they just had him lift up the eye mask, so you still can't tell who it is. And the kid didn't talk anymore after that, either.

It IS someone Eric called out though, which...kind of limits it. To Stan, Craig, Clyde, or Kenny. He mentioned Kyle too, but it's obviously not Kyle. It actually kind of sounds like Craig, to me.

And it fits all thge other criteria...

1) Cartman DID accuse him earlier in the episode.
2) Kenny had a picture of Mysterion in his locker.
3) He's a student in Mr. Garrison's class.
4) And after he showed his face, he never spoke again!

You can only distinguish Kenny from the other boys by his scraggy blond hair.

I don't know, I was kinda on the fence with the episode. Just seems to me I am kinda tired of the up to date stuff thats put in. I know it makes the show very fresh since it's all on our minds but sometimes I think they cram too much. I like that there are one or two (what seem to be ) drawn out episodes still but in 10 years when I watch the DVD's am I going to remember the Susan Boyle joke?

I agree. Loved the LAdy Gaga and the Godzilla but I turned it off half way through because I had no clue what they were talking about. This is my main flaw with the show. The up to date stuff holds no ground in the future if I want to rewatch the DVD's, or they do something that maybe a handful of people know about.

I'm well aware. I think the South Park movie was brilliant. A lot of the songs they use are directly pulled from elsewhere. There's a Fiddler on the Roof sequence too, but it's also visual (they do the Bottle Dance).

There are some Barbara Streisand (movie) references too, in the music. Specifically in the You Won't Succeed on Broadway song.

As much as I loved English class and love literature, that is always one of the things that bugged me. They pick books apart line by line, and I'm like...hey, how do we know this without having the author tell us?
Fortunately Tolkien, my favorite author, had no problem explaining where his ideas came from, and more so, where they did not.

And when you know a lot about an author's life, that makes it easier, because you can take what you know and interpret the story. That's really useful for people like Hugo, Dickens, Milton, Chaucer - knowing about their lives and their political and religious views lets you know exactly what they're trying to say in their writings.

I got really upset when one of my college professor's tried to tell me that EA Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher was about a homosexual relationship between the two main characters. I went "WTF? That's not in there ANYWHERE." When we had an exam that covered that story, I left out his stupid a$$ interpretation and took a psychological approach (that all these crazy things were happening because of his mental state; like he was blowing things out of proportion because he was freaked out). When I got my paper back, he actually wrote on there "Hey, why didn't you talk about what we talked about in class," and I'm too nice to tell him I thought he was a dumbass. I don't think he docked me for it, so whatever. So aside from trying to come up with all manner of interpretations, what REALLY bugs me is when someone will only accept a single, their own, interpretation, and not anyone else's. Of course, I say that, and I flat out refused my professor's interpretation, lol. But it was really, really dumb. :)
