There is some confusion in the CCL library as to the title The Uncanny X-Men and the New Teen Titans (Gold bordered cover, 1995 reprint of 1982 (?) original.
Currently this comic is listed as Marvel and DC present (which appears above the title on the cover page).
The title in the indica reads The Uncanny X-Men and the New Teen Titans. First printing. Obviously this is incorrect as it should be 2nd printing of the original comic....although technically a 1st printing of the collector's edition reprint...hmmm.
I propose the title should be changed from Marvel and DC present to The Uncanny X-Men and the New Teen Titans. (with the gold-bordered 1995 reprint listed as a 2nd printing.

Two other gold-bordered reprints were also published jointly by Marvel and DC that year. Superman and Spider-man (also has same error in the indica calling it a 1st printing) and Batman vs the Incredible Hulk (correctly says 2nd printing in the indica). These two comics however had DC and Marvel present above the title (assumedly as the DC characters had first billing).

My proposals for these comics are as follows.

1)All three titles should have their own listing on CCL:
-The Uncanny X-Men and the New Teen Titans (currently Marvel and DC present)
-Superman and Spider-man (currently incorrectly listed as Marvel Treasury #28)
  -Batman vs. the Incredible Hulk

2)The gold-bordered cover 1995 reprints should be listed as 2nd printings in these entries

3) Marvel and DC should (or DC and Marvel) should be a valid publisher option in Cheange/Request as these books were jointly published

Anybody got those handy and can say what the indicia reads?[/quote]We have one of the originals which states Marvel DC Presents I'll need to dig it back out but this was discovered back when I first came on board & went around & around & CCL/Morgan & Steve who were the only approvers at the time determined to mark the Uncanny X-Men and The Teen Titans cover title that was in the data base as well as already and Marvel and DC Presents & determined to mark the Uncanny X-men and the Teen Titans one as invalid to be removed at a later date & to state that any and all issues to be listed under the orginal cover title of Marvel and DC Presents as it was the 1st release & all others are variants of that.

Here is the supportive thread that I provided them with to make their minds up. http://www.comicspriceguide.com/p-issues.aspx?XVPT94tmkKPFh97z8HhHC4NLtgr38ZYnd%2bdZBjC4D3o%3d

And I'm pretty sure the original Superman and Spiderman had an indicia of Marvel Treasury. So the original editions of all of these are listed correctly. The question then is whether the later reprints are listed correctly. Here's what I propose, based on the indicia:
[*]The X-Men/Titans reprint (listed currently under Marvel and DC Present) should be under Uncanny X-Men and The Teen Titans and that title cleaned up.
[*]The Superman and Spider-man reprint is listed correctly under "Superman and Spider-man (Invalid)" so we just clean that title up.
[*]The Batman vs The Incredible Hulk reprint is already listed correctly - no work needed.

That's what I'm trying to tell you, The_Valiant_One & MorganB when she was still with us, & I'm sure other CCL staff member went aroung & around for awhile on this & finally agreed that the later releases would be entered as variants to the 1st releases. Thus they've marked the duplicate cover titles invalid & asked everyone to move their copies to the originals & submit them as variants.

This is straight out of the guidelines:
Variants & Reprints

1) Same story issues with a different cover or print run (including reprints) are considered variants. Variants are entered with the same issue number. The next consecutive variant letter will be added automatically. For example, if issue #1 variant A is a flip book and there is a second printing which is a not a flip book, it would entered as issue #1 and the software would assign it a B cover.

a) The variant letters are always capitalized (this is done automatically). When submitting a new issue or variant, please note the following: If a cover already has a letter denotation such as "COVER A", try to keep consistency. While CCL denoted issues in the order they are submitted, try to submit the "A" cover first.

b) Make sure that the printing number and the date are correct. This is very important for the accuracy and consistency of our database.

c) Include a cover description. Examples include the following:

c1) Dynamic Forces (Signed by Alex Ross) 1/500

c2) Alex Ross Cover

c3) DC Silver Edition Reprint

Moot point - on the individual books, where it really matters, both Marvel and DC can be listed as publisher. No need to have a hodge-podge of joint publishers anymore.

Exactly. Just pick one as the "primary" publisher in cover title. Every where else we can put both.
