Here's an interesting little video. It's weird how they called the Avengers the Titans. Don't understand why that happened. I would love to get that poster he shows at the very end!

That was my gateway into Marvel and comics in general. Back in the 70’s. I started buying in 1974 (so big anniversary coming up in September). I didn’t start buying the colour Marvel titles regularly until two years later in ‘76. Regarding your take on the Titans name; they never called the Avengers Titans. That was the name of the anthology series. On the cover is just an ensemble of characters that had stories in that first issue. Cap, Namor, Nick Fury, Captain Marvel, Black Bolt and some generic Inhumans.

I have the poster too. Despite what the guy in the video said, it wasn’t copy pasted from random sources. It’s pencilled by John Buscema and inked by Joe Sinnott. I think it might have originally been a giveaway with FOOM in the US.

On a geeky trivia note; at 8:44 in the video on the left hand page the ad for the Dracula Lives and Avengers issues was intriguing as the Dracula cover was published weeks after the release of the Avengers issue, which in fact had completely different artwork when it came out. It was meant to be Avengers UK #109. I’m only on my tablet, so can’t add a link to it here.
