*Wade Wilson was a soldier and mercenary who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was approached by Weapon X, and offered a cure in exchange for service. Wilson was given Wolverine's healing factor, which cured the cancer but left Wilson's face grotesquely scarred, looking more like hamburger than a human face.

That's when Wade lost his mind. He became Deadpool!

Deadpool is obsessed with death - putting himself in increasingly dangerous situations - because he wants to die...But he can't. Of all of the Weapon X agents, Deadpool has the most powerful and had the fastest healing factor.

Deadpool's non-stop jokes earned him the nickname 'the Merc with a Mouth.' He's absurd and he talks fast, but kills faster. *Source: Back of card
