Item Bio
"When the Commissar Commands!" Reprints Avengers (1963) #18
The Avengers relax, each in their own fashion, unaware that in Communist China, the iron fist of tyranny needs to set an example for their people. They devise one, by laying a trap for the Avengers to draw them in. Once there, they plan to have their great warrior, the Commissar, defeat the Avengers in ceremonial combat for propaganda purposes. One by one, he defeats Captain America, Hawkeye, then Quicksilver. When it is the Scarlet Witch's turn, she notices a Wizard of Oz arrangement, and quickly unveils that the Commissar is a robot. The Avengers don't hold back, and the local leaders lose face as their robot goes up in smoke.
