Former electrical linesman Max Dillon has a new career, that of super-villain, Electro. He is fearlessly performing robberies around town, and, somehow, J. Jonah Jameson is convinced that he is secretly Spider-Man in disguise. Peter Parker is distracted, as Aunt May is undergoing costly surgery, Pete is without money, and Betty Brant is having a hard time accepting Peter's dangerous lifestyle as a crime scene photographer. When Electro stages a prison break to recruit some flunkies, it all comes to a head.
