Conan the Barbarian (1970) 20-B

"The Black Hound of Vengeance!"

Prince Yezdigerd leads a raiding party from Aghrapur into the city of Makkalet to recover the Tarim Incarnate. Balthaz captains the crew, which includes Conan and Fafnir. Once inside the Temple a Makkalet, Conan quickly finds himself separated from the rest of the raiding party, and facing the wizard Kharam-Akkad. Conan gets entrapped in A Hall of Mirrors, and falls through a trap door to a dark chamber containing a snarling beast. After battling with the hound, Conan escapes and makes his way back to the War Fleet of Aghrapur. He discovers that Balthaz has disposed of all the dead over-board, including Fafnir, who was only wounded. Conan avenges his friend, stabbing Balthaz through the heart, and turns to take his leave. Prince Yezdigerd orders his soldiers to kill Conan, but soon, only Yezdigerd barres his way. Conan slashes Yezdigerd's cheek with his scimitar, and then dives into the sea while Turanian spears and arrows rain down behind him.
