* While Dragon has yet to return from New York, Dart and Star fail to stop a prison break by members of the Vicious Circle, including Cutthroat, Mako, Doubleheader, Lowblow, and Hardware, who is murdered by Cutthroat. Dart and Star are rescued by the youthful Mighty Man, a supposedly dead superhero of the 1940s. Dragon soon visits Dart in the hospital, while Frank Darling is still blackmailed by Overlord and Skullface. Suddenly, Dragon is attacked by The Fiend, a demonic creature of pure hatred possessing a police officer. The officer is killed, however, and the Fiend leaves his body.
