We see in flashback that it was the followers of Borat-Na Fori who sacked Red Sonja's village all those years ago and helped create who she is and her mission: to crush the Borat-Na Fori's followers. Now, the Goddess has sent Sonja and her companions on a trip north to solicit the aid of the Old Gods in their fight against the armies of evil. They trek across the frozen wastes, but Borat-Na Fori's sorcery sees them and commands a monstrous ice demon to strike them down. From his peep hole in another dimension, Kulan Gath watches his puppets move as he pulls the strings.
