*New York is hit by a thousand-foot tidal wave. A volcano erupts in the heart of San Francisco. Africa and Australia are under siege as plagues of insects attack millions of defenseless men, women and children. The Authority are left clueless as to who — or what — is behind these unexplainable catastrophes. No one has made any demands nor claimed responsibility, but thousands are dying every hour and the casualties are mounting.
