Scott falls for Madelyne Pryor since she is the spitting image of Jean Grey. Meanwhile, Mystique is haunted by a dream where Phoenix and Jason Wyngarde are chasing her in a colonial setting; she awakes to find Rogue has slipped away. Underground, the X-Men try to break free of the Morlocks but Plague ends that with a standoff, Callisto's life for Storm's, but when Caliban arrives with Kitty, Storm challenges Callisto for control of the Morlocks, and wins the freedom of the X-Men.
