StormWatch battles Defile's creature in the Hawaiian islands. Defile uses the this opportunity to analyze StormWatch's weaknesses, but eventually the team is able to give Battalion an opportunity to rip the bomb from the creature. Timespan shows up just in time to prevent hold Diva back, and with no time to disarm it Battalion sacrifices himself to contain the blast, thus fulfilling the future that Battalion saw for himself in StormWatch (1993) #25.
Afterwards, Timespan is tracked down by the Traveller, who wounds him before he travels to the point in time where he originally took Battalion into his own future.
The creature is later revealed to be Maul (Jeremy Stone).
