Carrick Masterson has selected Josh to be transformed for his Front Line organization, through a dose of his secret formula FX7. In fact, Josh's transformation is being expedited, an issue that concerns those around Masterson. Masterson is worried that other unknown agencies are attempting to hack his formula to make their own enhanciles, that the deaths of his two other Front Line operatives were carried out by this agency, and his forces are vulnerable until Josh is empowered. Josh is nervous, and he should be, as the enhancement process is unpleasant and potentially deadly.
