Put on another super-being's costume, and prepare to pick up their baggage. That is the quandary facing Wendell Vaughn, formerly Marvel Man. When visiting the secluded Project Pegasus installation, the Thing turns to see him in the costume of Fantastic Four foe, the Crusader, and reacts with hostility.

It is all explained to Ben that Vaughn has inherited the energy bands once worn by Robert Grayson. In his new role as Quasar, Vaughn is also the chief of security at Pegasus.

One of the site's staff is a mole, planted by a shadowy puppet-master. The Thing's arrival leads to a contingency measure being deployed. Namely, Deathlok.
