Guido gets a car! Vrroooooommmmm!!!
|
'mazing Man #4.
What the Heck is this comic?
It certainly isn't a sueprhero book. It certainly isn't a funny animal book. It certainly isn't a psychological book, or a love comic or a satire or a humor comic.
Lol. It's all of them.
In this issue...Guido gets a car. And, that's about it.
Guido is, well, an Italian. He is irritating, but a good friend. Maze (which is what Denton the brother of Brenda, who happens to be a talking dog calls 'Mazing Man----or Siegfried Horatio Hunch II), Denton and Brenda are rousted out of bed to go for a ride with Guido in his new trans am.
Their ride is funny and ends at a burger hut. It ends there because Guido won't let them get back in the car with their greasy paws and hands...even though they never wanted to wake up and ride with him.
The the car gets stolen.
There is a second story where Brenda's boyfriend is dragged along to one of her office parties.
I mean, it all seems so real. Despite the fact that Denton is a talking dog and Maze is, well, 'Mazing Man (a little dude who wears underwear and a big bucket and "fights crime" in the neighborhood) it all seems like stuff that happens in real life.
And it is told in a charming way with spot on art.
3 out of 5 stars. Good read if you're looking for something a little different than your average comic fare.
