Alex Ross works his stuff.. but why?
What we have here is a classic example of one of those comic books which delivers a totally awesome story and has a really exciting point to it once youve read it from start to finish.. but which does so without great storytelling.
I think Alex Ross has really tried hard on this issue, he certainly delivered in terms of artwork which was 100% gorgeous and beautiful!
But as for the writting in this issue.. well the story seemed a bit rushed (in that it a bit moved too quickly in places without explanation of what was going on), the conversations were too vague at times and the dialouge seemed very weak in places.
However the story and point of this issue is really exciting!
We got a lot of back story in this issue on Earth-22 Superman's past life back on Earth-22, we see a lot of flash backs to that.
I think the point of this issue all in all, was that Alex Ross was just letting us know that Superman could be the source of a whole lot of trouble for our Earth.. and oh boy am I excited!
I enjoyed the issue once Id finished it, the art (like I say) was just stunning! And all in all, it was a good issue which has me excited to see where JSA and Superman are going to go next!
There are some cool pages at the back of how Alex Ross made his first ever comic (which was this one btw) and trust me, it is actually very interesting!
