A virulent "plague" that has been spreading through Metropolis is revealed to be the sinister work of a vampire. Investigating the sudden end of a similar plague in Gotham, Robin heads to Metropolis to follow a hunch that just happens to be right - it's the same vampire who left Gotham when the Batman begin investigating.
When Jimmy discovers that Lucy Lane is in the thrall of the vampire he stakes out the hospital, suspicious that her doctor is in fact the perpetrator. A confrontation by Superman's pal and Robin seems to be going badly until the Man of Steel arrives to save them, but the vampire escapes.
