"The Hand of Fate"
Red Sonja drinks alone at a seaside tavern, and the other patrons, pirates by trade, test her toughness, and she is not found wanting. She is approached by a youth, Ander, who engages her services. His father was a pirate who died under questionable circumstances while at sea, and now the boy is being followed by the father's associates, who are keen to share in the treasure that the father left for the son. Sonja takes the assignment, and gets the boy alone to his treasure chest, but it contains one sole mystic gem. The gem imparts visions to the holder of the fate of others. The boy has a vision of his father betrayed by his peers, murdered for his share of loot. Sonja helps the boy get his revenge when the pirates who were shadowing them arrive.
