"The Second Coming of Shuma-Gorath: The Final Chapter"

Shuma-Gorath is released by manipulating the mind of Hobb to recite the proper incantation. Atop Mount Crom, Vammatar and Kulan Gath forget all ideas of rivalry, and pool their powers to bring the god under control. Having succeeded, they recall their lost love, and decide to resume their partnership. They dispatch Conan, Rann, and their party, and Hobb must save them from a precipise. While Gath and Vammatar revel in their promise of shared power, Shuma-Gorath shruggs off their spell and disintegrates the two mages. Conan, meanwhile, has recovered the iron-bound spellbooks which hold power over the mad god, a fact which Shuma-Gorath tries to remedy. Conan can find no other use for the tomes than as a missile, but the results do the trick, and Shuma-Gorath returns to its prison inside the mountain.
